I saw whorehouse today at the Tibbits Opera house, voted one of the top ten places to see a show off-broadway.

First of all, I went into this show thinking that its gonna suck
But fron the first song I knew I was gonna love it, everyone did awesome ana amazing. But a few people that stuck out was a woman who played Jewel. She stole the show with her song "24 hour lovin" (Or something like that, my mom threw my program away) All the girls could sing too, and the Sherrif stole the show with his camidic timing. And the lead woman (Don't remember the role) Just blew everyone away with her song "A bus to...(Something)" (Yeah sorry don't remember it again) And all of the dancing was just awesome, and the tap numbers were cool too. If anyone is in Coldwater Michigan I HIGHLY recommend that you see it

I have one question though, is Jewel usually played by a white person?? If It were, it would seem a little awkward.

Sorry for all of the typos/misstakes My review of Whorehouse!

Its "comedic" timing and its "bus to Amarillo". I saw a community production of this show and hated it. The sing was good, but the set was very bland and boring and the staging and choreography left something to be desired. But the girl who played Jewel was pretty good. Best songs: "Hard Candy Christmas" & "Doatsey Mae."

I saw the tour of Whorehouse with Ann-Margret several years ago and really enjoyed it. I had grown up watching the movie version with Dolly Parton and Burt Reynolds, so it was cool for me to see how different the stage version was from the big screen adaptation. I honestly enjoyed Dolly better as Miss Mona, however I am a little biased when it comes to Ms. Parton. Ann-Margret was great, but her Miss Mona was more laid back where Dolly's take on the character was real bubbly and upbeat.

I grudgingly went along to the original WHOREHOUSE because it was the only show available at the TKTS booth, and it was one of the best things I have ever seen on Broadway. Fannie Flagg was Mona, a stunning girl named Cheryl Ebarb was playing Shy and Patrick Hamilton was hilarious doing the "Sidestep". I think a lot depends on who you see playing the roles because when I saw the show again in Australia I absolutely loathed it.
