Corine, that picture you're using really DOES make you look like Ruth Buzzi!

I'm going to weigh eventhough I haven't seen this show. But since when has that stoped any of us from offering an opinion?

With all due respect to others' opinions this show sounds tedious and pretentious. Kushner could relieve himself on The Times itself and Mr. Rich and others at The Times would still call it art, and find a reason to excuse it and set aside the standard by which they measure others. So despite the influence these reviewers are given that doesn't make what they highly tout as standing the test of time and public opinion. If the public doesn't share their view the public is viewed as an idiot lot. But that's a critic for you--he/she has the taste which everyone else lacks.

Oh yes, time after time, The Times has proven in its reviews that its reviewers create reasons why those who are their darlings are gently handled when those darlings outright fail. (Expressing failure by one of their darlings might be viewed as a reflection of the critic's assessment of taste.) So, all in all, there is some measure of truth to MusicMan's perspective. By the same token Namo believes what he saw and heard may even be brilliant. To each his own.

One test (for any show) may be to pay full price for your ticket and then assess whether what one saw and heard was something beyond measure or was not near the value of the cost of the ticket.

Yours for value, or change on Broadway.

Oh, whatEVER, Bull. If one of the younger people on the board wrote "I haven't seen it but it sounds...." more seasoned members would have slammed them so hard and you deserve no less.

I shrugged off your weird opinion the other day that Angels in America lacked poetry as a matter of temporary insanity (your opinion is something that most viewers will surely disagree with when they see the film). But come on. You might think the play "sounds" some way but you "sound" ridiculous. I'll listen to Lahr, Brantley and Feingold (not to mention a tree stump) before I'd ever listen to you.

Now, don't you have a little quiz to go create or something?

P.S. Tony Kushner relieving himself would be infinitely more interesting than what most writers today come up with. Challenging little trivia quizzes notwithstanding.

Namo, you don't intimate me. Let's get that clear.

Accept the fact that not everyone is going to agree with you regardless of how valid/right you believe your opinions to be, and relax. You'll live longer.

Cheers!
