Horsey... I do have a sense of humor and I thought it was funny... Hense the silly man comment. (forgive me for trying to laugh and educate at the same time.)
NO! Not you BoxOfficeJon! That post about failing to find the humor was a response to NewYorkUniq's post saying "...what does this have to do with Bombay Dreams."
Ignore the reviews of Taboo...trust me...and many, many others...it`s great....and I`m not just saying that cos I love George. It`s very entertaining, different, will make you happy, sad, and it`s incrediable!
now just a cotton pickin' minute miss mispelled cartoon character. are you saying that you haven't even seen taboo?

Well, I am definetly excited about TABOO. I will catch it in January(providing it lasts that long). I for one Never wish a quick closure or failure of any show...no matter whether or not I am interested in seeing it or not. I do read reviews but put no stock in them as I like to make that decision of love or hate myself. One more thing.. I go see every show that Ben Brantley shoots down(which is almost everyone) just to spite him. He is lethally negative and I am confused as to why he is even interested in theatre. OH well, my point is I will see TABOO despite its mixed reviews! kev

""""quote "From what I hear Tom Meehan has done his usual superb job of creating a wonderful book " yes, like the one he did for hairspray. LOL!!!! everything he wrote was rewritten by harvey in an uncredited role. i dont think more than 3 words remain from meehans contribution.""""""
Thomas Meehan's gift is not writing one-liners. He can leave that to Mel Brooks or Harvey F. Meehan's gift is giving structure to a story. He took the screenplays for two mediocre films and created through-lines, character arcs, sub-plots, and the like. No doubt Meehan will do the same for Bombay Dreams. If they need one-liners, joke-writers are a dime a dozen. Before Between the phenomenal successes of ANNIE and THE PRODUCERS, he spent over 20 years as an uncredited script doctor for movies where he performed similar services.
TABOO's score seems to be the one thing that critics and audiences agree is the best thing about the show. It could be a contender at the Tonys. But I suspect it will be the one place they will reward AVE Q. I would be surprised if they broke their long tradition of giving smaller shows anything other than writing and acting awards by giving the best musical award to Q. The list of such shows (FALSETTOS, SUNDAY, INTO THE WOODS, URINETOWN, SECRET GARDEN, ONCE ON THIS ISLAND,CHARLIE BROWN) that lost the bigger awards to more splashy traditional Broadway musicals is long.
