Oh yes - I have read the first one - book two is still on my shel untouched. Only because of time. I used to do author promotions for A Different Light in SF and Alex Sanchez did a book reading/signing for me. He's really cute! How is the second book. Same characters? or different story?

Oh my God. I am the Rainbow Boys fangirl.

Some of the characters tend to annoy me a bit...but some of the book is just very touching and eye opening.

Love the books! I hope that there's a 3rd one around...my friend and I were joking that it would be called "Rainbow College."

I read them both...and they're superficial. I didn't like them. I want substance, depth..instead of "oh, you're hot. let's go have sex." Some of the elements were okay...like the friendship, but over all...i give it a thumbs down.

Kyle totally annoys me. Totally does.

Nelson, I think, was the only one who was really 'all about sex.'

Hrm.

It is a bit like reading Queer As Folk.

I loved those books, as I am a huge slash fan.
LG- Kyle does annoy me so much as well!
Is it true there's gonna be a third one?

I don't know about a third book....

The line that my friend hate, yet find horrifically funny, was this:

"Were you two kissing?"
"Yeah...don't tell ma, okay?"

Jason and Kyle's relationship sometimes gets too ridiculous for me.

Anyone want a good gay lit book? "Annie on my Mind" by Nancy Garden. That's more of the friendship slowly turning into a relationship thing- Rainbow Boys jumps into it a bit too fast.

I love Rainbow Boys! Is there going to be another? I like boys who like boys... I'm a wierdo. My friends and I do use the term TCJ, though. Tragic Closet Jock. So sad.

The wierd thing about this book is that it contains a closet jock named Jason. I am friends with a closet jock named Jason (who has come out now, but that's not the point) and there's a gay Jason in BARE who, if I remember right, is a jock. Wierd.

Jason is a JOCK! name.

Nelly was the utter drama queen. Somehow, he became my favorite character. Before he met Jeremy.

Ugh, Jeremy was a jerk. Nelson deserves better... I kinda wanted him to get Kyle, the geek and the punk would be adorable!

Kyle is SOOO goody-goody! It makes me laugh, though.

I winced when Kyle wrote Jason that letter and gave him his phone number in the first book- how OBVIOUS could you get!!

I like when they were in the movie theatre and Jason was all nervous... Kyle is very obvious about Jason, that's why he's so sweet! But kinda creepy how he stalked him and memorized his schedule.

And when he drove Jason home the first time! I was in hysterics..."How did you know that I lived here?"

Almost as bad as the Idina stalkers, but Kyle is so cute that I will forgive him. And that hot swimmer body, yum... (wow, I'm obsessing over a fictitious person)

(you think that you're obsessing? I can tell you some WEIRD stories on people that have posters of 'hot' cartoon characters and stuff that they drool over...that's obsession)

I think that the majority of the reading base for this book is made of teenage girls who like gay guy relationships. Lol.

Teenage girl fanbase! My friend and I are unfortunately part of it...we argue over who's better. JASON is!!
