Ok, folks. I just finished watching CAMP (great movie) and there is a scene where the main girl is listening to her Broadway Ballad mixtape to ease her pain over a boy. If you had a broadway ballad mixtape, what would be on it?
"They're eating her and then they're going to eat me. OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!" -Troll 2
"Without You"-Rent "Happiness"- YAGMCB "Fine, fine line"- Avenue Q "On my own" - Les Mis "Music of the night"- POTO "Goodbye Love"- RENT (i donno if that counts as a ballad...but i listen to it when i'm sad) "Think of me"- POTO "For Good"- Wicked
I donno if half of these are ballads, but i loove them.
"Noah, someday we'll talk again. But there's things we'll never say. That sorrow deep inside you. It inside me, too. And it never go away. You be okay. You'll learn how to lose things..."
These are in no particular order other than the one they came to me in: Your Eyes from Rent There's a Fine Fine Line from Avenue Q I Get a Kick Out of You from Anything Goes On My Own from Les Miz If I Can't Love Her from Beauty and the Beast Can You Feel the Love Tonight from The Lion King Worthy of Your Love from Assassins (I think that's what it's called) Suddenly Seymour from Little Shop of Horrors Far from the Home I Love from Fiddler on the Roof Are You There from bare a pop opera Tomorrow from Annie Music of the Night from Phantom of the Opera On the Street Where You Live from My Fair Lady Maria from West Side Story Night and Day by Cole Porter (I know it's in one of his musicals but I'm not sure which one) Why from Tick Tick Boom The Boy Next Door from Meet Me in St. Louis The Sound of Music from The Sound of Music People Say We're in Love from Oklahoma Never Never Land from Peter Pan Ladies who Lunch from Company
I actually have an Itunes playlist called "Power Ballads". Here goes.... Your Daddy's Son- Ragtime You Don't Know This Man- Parade The Winner Takes It All- Mamma Mia Stars and Moon- Songs for A New World Someone to Watch Over Me- Crazy for You Someone Like You- Jekyll and Hyde Slipping Through My Fingers- Mamma Mia On My Own- Les Mis Notice Me, Horton- Seussical No One Knows Who I Am- Jekyll and Hyde Memory- Cats Maybe This Time- Cabaret Lament- Into the Woods I Know The Truth- Aida I Dreamed A Dream- Les Mis Flagmaker, 1775- Songs for a New World Come To Your Senses- Tick Tick Boom! Christmas Lullaby- Songs for a New World But Not For Me- Crazy for You Back to Before- Ragtime As Long As He Needs Me- Oliver
There are so many more good songs I just don't have on the playlist because I don't own copies of them. Oh and they're also only female ones. Sometime I need to make a male power ballad playlist.
As a huge Les Miz fan, I'm happy that everyone has so far put "On My Own" on their proposed mix tape.
