"Nine"... there's such a range of music. There's big, fun, showy numbers (Vatican/Be Italian) and heart wrenching numbers (Simple)... as well as emotionally driven numbers that give you chills if done correctly (Unusual Way/Be On Your Own)... and then everything in between!

I LOVE "NINE!"

My two favorite scores are The Phantom of the Opera, it is flawless and perfect, and Dance/Tanz Der Vampire, probably one on the most amazing scores ever written, and both are just amazing shows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello, Dolly!#5
Posted: 5/24/03 at 3:13pm
It stands to reason that my favorite composer, Jerry Herman, would produce my favorite score from, Hello, Dolly!

A note of interest, In 1999, Jerry Herman was asked to assist with the music and score for The Producers the Musical but turned down the Mel Brooks request saying Mel already had accomplished much of it himself when he successfully produced "Springtime for Hitler" and "Prisoners of Love" for The Producers the movie from the 1960's.
My perfect day would begin at on the beach in Hana, Maui and end at a Broadway Musical.

Les Miserables is good and Miss Saigon is impressive, however the undertone is just too much all the time. I'm not really sure I'm good enough a judge of music.

RAGTIME. My favorite score and favorite musical.

But, I also like SWEENEY TODD, HELLO, DOLLY!, GYPSY, LES MISERABLES, THE MOST HAPPY FELLA, and HAIRSPRAY.

Two additional favorites that don't get mentioned too much are: PURLIE and DEAR WORLD
Ray is the author of the Brad Frame mystery series, and two suspense novels. He is also the author of a one man play based on Ben Franklin. http://www.rayflynt.com

I have always loved the score to "Gypsy."
I also love "Les Miz" and "Mack and Mabel"
Such great music in both of those shows.
Also, "Cinderella"
