This event was a sell-out (probably even over sold) and was a huge succes for The Artist Showcase Series. Kudos all around to all the wonderful performers this evening....

David Burtka and Jose Llana look great. Stephanie J. Block, Shoshana Bean and Julia Murney are always a treat. I heard Cary Shields was wearing leather pants. Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW ! What a show. I am in love with Cary Shields and yes he was wearing leather pants and sang an original song that was so funny. Julia Murney and Stephanie Block should do a duet cd ala Emily and Alice because they both are belters from heaven. Anthony Rapp made me cry with his dedication song as did Shoshana Bean while singing her song Home. Heck Shoshana even cried throughout the song Home as did everyone around me. Scott Alan is hot as is David Burtka (both in the group picture. Scott next to Shoshana and David in the back). And of course Seth Rudetsky was hilarious. The Madonna and Streisand Jokes killed me. It was so great. 2 Hours of incredible voices and music. Updated On: 4/5/04 at 12:58 AM

How was Kristy Cates? I think she sang one of Elphaba's songs from Wicked. She's her understudy so I'm just curious how she sounded.

Kristy was one of the best singers of the evening.
She did a smashing version of "The Wizard & I".

It was over sold which was actually funny b/c my friends and I ended up sitting way in the back behind the bar! But I got to see the 2 people I went for and talk to thm after the show...so I was content. Also met our webmaster Rob very briefly. Sorry for not being able to spend more time with you...will talk more next time!

Seth Rudetsky's contributions can't be ignored...particularly his wonderfully evil 'sound clips' comparing Patti & Madonnas' EVITA, and Barbras freaky vowel substituions (you had to be there)!

It was an awesome show and now I have the biggest crush on David Burtka-- I had never even heard of the guy till last night and now I'll go see Gypsy just to see him for 2 hrs :) sigh.

Cary Shields is always HOT...

And yes-- I can report that our friendly webmaster Rob is quite the cutie! :)

Julia Murney tore the roof off the place and I could watch Shoshana Bean sing the phone book- simply amazing!

Craig were you sitting next to Rob at the bar? If that was you...I wouldn't say chopped liver at all! I would say more like a sweet apple with honey on it. re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: The I have to be honest...I was a bit on the shy side last night...hence why I didn't come over and introduce myself earlier.
