does anyone remember the old time actor that would always say, "yessssssssssss" in a real drawn-out comical fashion. they even parody him ( i think his character was a butler on some show or in a movie) on the simpsons, and, i think, on the flinstones.

can anyone remember his name??

The actor was Frank Nelson. He made several appearances on "I Love Lucy" among other sitcoms.

That's the guy who played Freddie Filmore on one episode of I Love Lucy. He also played other characters on that show. I think he also did some characters on The Flintstones.

Why do I even know this stuff?

Wasn't Jack Benny famous for doing something similar with "Well..."

I believe you're right. Benny did something similar with "well"
I think it was done in an effeminant, sort of shocked/insulted tone

Yes and Benny said it with his right elbow resting on his left wrist (his arm paralleling his belt). And his index finger pointing to, or resting on his cheek.

I believe the "Yessssss" man later became Mr. Mooney, the banker on "The Lucy Show".

There is also a character on The Simpsons who has been on the show many times and is a caricature of Frank Nelson.
