I have already booked:

The Mirror (Almeida), The Father and the Assassin (National), Sunset Boulevard, Operation Mincemeat, and Sondheim’s Old Friends.

I have another 6 or 7 slots available slots. Aside from Cabaret, Guys & Dolls, Dr. Semmelweis and Crazy For You, what else? Ian McKellen in the new play Frank & Percy? I saw McKellen in January in Mother Goose. The revival of Private Lives? The one man Vanya?  Any word on Rebecca?

thanks for any help!

There's also "Close Up", a new musical about Twiggy that I'm looking forward to as well as "Little Big Things" another new musical staring Linzi Hateley. Seeing those along with everything you mentioned next month and I'm most excited for "Rebecca" which is starting to look VERY campy. I can't wait.

Ian McKellen isn't doing "Private Lives", he's doing the play "Frank & Percy" at The Other Palace. Nigel Havers & Patricia Hodge are doing "Private Lives" at The Ambassadors.

Also, "Dr Semmelweis" was...ok. Rylance was great but the play itself was odd and not something I'd ever really feel the need to see again.

Please do not miss Guys and Dolls!

Theres a new musical “The Little Big Things” opening @sohoplace at the start of September. Looks promising! Also if you can get a return for Next to Normal it’s an outstanding production, as is our Open Air production of La Cage aux Folles.

Frank and Percy (Ian Mckellen) is… fine.

Thanks for the helpful suggestions. I am aware that Ian McKellan is doing Frank & Percy at The Other Palace. Read the out of town reviews. It seems so predictable. I saw him in Mother Goose in January.

Will look into Little Big Things.

Any hotel recommendations?

I saw Little Big Things last night. It’s wonderful. Have seen nothing but positive reviews for the first two previews.

I can’t wait to see that next week and finally see Linzi in person.

She doesn’t disappoint! It’s a great night out at the theatre.

I think I saw her in CARRIE on Broadway years ago.

thank you for the suggestions.

I lucked out finding a good seat for Next to Normal, and have also booked the Twiggy musical and Operation Epsilon (Southwark).

I will be booking Rebecca and Little Big Things, along with Guys & Dolls, Crazy for You and Cabaret.

I have extended my trip by a day and will make a run up to Birmingham to catch a preview of the new Sinatra musical at the Birmingham Rep starring Matt Doyle, and likely headed to the West End and Broadway.

Looking for a Sunday night event, and may book the Derren Brown magic show at the Criterion, for lack of something else.

As others have said, DO NOT MISS Guys & Dolls! That's a hot ticket right now and keeps selling out! Hope you have a great time! I've heard good things about Little Big Things. Man, I wish I was still in London right now! Hope to be back later next year!

The idea is to work and to experiment. Some things will be creatively successful, some things will succeed at the box office, and some things will only - which is the biggest only - teach you things that see the future. And they're probably as valuable as any of your successes. -Harold Prince

Guys & Dolls has taken a significant hit as far as attendance. I saw it twice the past couple weeks and the theatre was was maybe 60% full each night. I really wish they released grosses like we do here, I’d love to see the actual numbers.

I wonder if it's cause the summer crowds have left for the season. I agree, Jordan, I wish they would release grosses. I still wanna know when we are getting the freaking cast album! They recorded it way back in June, I wanna know what the hold-up is.

Where did you see that? Did they announce it in the last couple of days?

Looking for tickets to this...does Soho Place offer rush/day tickets?  TKTS?

EDIT:  just saw on instagram that they are offering 25 pounds day tickets.

Need a last minute rec. I had tickets for Sondheim's Old Friends for the first preview and now need to fill that time slot.

Currently have tickets for: Next to Normal, Operation Mincemeat, Crazy for You, Cabaret, Little Big Things, and Rebecca.

Not really interested in Guys and Dolls and have seen all the long runners (Wicked, Tina, Hamilton, Six etc.). I'm open to anything as long as it's in London. Doesn't have to be on the West End.

Not necessarily a stage show, but ABBA Voyage is an incredible concert experience. Definitely worth checking out.

The new Ian McKellen play “Frank & Percy” is starting tomorrow. Also, the Regents Park “La Cage Aux Folles” is absolutely brilliant and 1000% worth seeing.
