Saw a few shows last weekend and was fortunate to see several star worthy performances.

Juliette Redden - Anne of Green Gables. I don't want to say I told you so, but I posted about her on here months ago saying she should have been Fanny Brice. Everyone else was late to the party, but now catching up.  I read two professional reviews today saying she is one of the most talented new performers out there, and I couldn't agree more. Authentic, genuine actor with a totally insane voice. I just can't say enough good things about her.  Highly suggest making the trip to Goodspeed if you can.  Side note, how about Texas State producing some of the best talent out there these days?  Between Juliette, Bella Coppola, Anna Uzele, and many more, they're clearly doing something right down there.

Kyle Ramar Freeman - A Strange Loop.  Probably one of the best "understudies" I've ever seen. Excellent actor with a tremendous voice.

Julie Benko - Funny Girl.  She isn't an understudy any longer and for good reason.  Hooked the audience right from the very beginning. It's disappointing that sales were down last week, and I'm curious to see if Lea Michele really makes a difference at the box office.  While Lea can definitely sing, I just can't picture her conveying genuine warmth and humor the way that Julie does. I hope she proves me wrong.  Side star, Ramin. How lucky is Broadway to have him? The ideal Arnstein.  Was the 6-pack flaunting really necessary though?
