The latest episode was just painful to watch, just incredibly awkward storylines, which made it exciting. Every episode I have a new prediction for the body, but right now I think it’s the singer/stripper.

The second season is amazing!

Episode 5 was really exciting ending on another scene just as exciting as the ass eating scene from season one.

I'm really enjoying it, but I'm really interested in what exactly the show is trying to say. From what I've seen so far, it feels like the thesis statement is "nice guys finish last". There's plenty of evidence pointing to this (Albie and Ethan, the only two men at the resort who aren't perverts or predators, and the ones getting screwed over the most), but I doubt the show would be heading towards a sentiment that has such a misogyny-laden history.

I think it certainly seems headed in that direction or that the “good guys” get turned “bad.” There is some hint at that in the season finale previews.

Also, one theory I’ve had seems to be coming true:

that Tonya’s husband is connected to the gays in attempt to take her money and I thought he was the American “Cowboy” that Quentin talked about and they framed photo Tonya looked at seemed to confirm that. I’m guessing they’ll have proof of her cheating on her husband then he’ll file for divorce and a good portion of her fortune?

I also think:

Harper and Cameron were up to something in the hotel room. The finale trailer seems to want us to think Ethan kills Cameron in the water and thus that is the body in the water, but that’s too easy  I keeping thinking of the story that Quentin told about the woman who was pushed up her death at Palermo so I think the death(s) will be somehow connected to that. I think he also said the structure of that mansion was quite shaky?

I knew Jack was trouble from the get-go. I was hoping Portia would run for the hills once Jack fell asleep, but trailer looks like that isn’t the case.

Not sure what’s going on with Lucia & that guy. She does seem truly scared of him, but don’t think a pimp. I hope Albie doesn’t do something he regrets to protect her.

And wonder what repercussions there will be for Valentina’s dalliance with Mia. I suspect there will be.

Quick thoughts on the Ethan/Harper/Cameron story

If Cameron really told Harper what really happened it wouldn’t make sense for her to go ahead and cheat on Ethan, that just seems way too out of character. But I guess we really don’t know these people after all.

I think Ethan is beyond paranoid right now and that will cause major drama next week.

In regards to the Tanya plot

I read about the suggestion that Tanyas husband was Quentin’s lover a few episodes back. I already believed it, but the photo now confirms it. I thought Nico was actually going to be her husband and they were going to set her up then.

I know Mike White said in an interview he wanted Jennifer Coolidge to appear in every season of the show, so I can’t see her being the dead body.

 My current body predictions

Jack, because he feels guilty for pushing Portia into this mess and I think he actually has feelings for her, but he is way too far into whatever mob/crime ring Quentin is involved in that he can’t get out.

Cameron, Ethan likely gets to a breaking point. I could see it where Ethan confronts Cameron about not having enough money and that’s why ethan and Harper were invited initially.

I have recorded both seasons, but have watched only the first three episodes of Season 1.  In the beginning, I wasn't overly enthused.  But somewhere in the first episode it grabbed me.  Jennifer Coolidge never disappoints!

My favorite scene thus far:  the teenage son on the beach, watching the breaching whale.

It cannot be understated how mad I am Tanya died. And the way she died, like c’mon. I also am confused, are we to presume greg was in on everything and Tanya and Portia were right?

The entire season I absolutely hated Ethan and Harper together, but now they are my favorite couple in fiction history.

Hopefully this is only the first bigger roles and projects for Meghann Fahy, she was really remarkable in this.

Excited to see what Mike White has in store for season 3

I had some questions as well after the finale. But then I watched Mike White’s brief after show (if you have HBO MAX, it comes on right after the episode so you can just skip to it)  & that put some things in perspective including some insight on Tanya. But your instincts about the Tanya storyline are correct. This was a stronger season finale than Season 1 (which I also loved). I appreciate how everything isn’t resolved neatly.
