New Virtual Musical (Last Month) MSM

Hi all,

My husband stumbled upon this sort of accidentally and showed it to be 2 evenings ago. Apparently the Manhattan School of Music has been producing virtual musical productions this season (for obvious reasons). But they've gone about it differently than most of what I've seen elsewhere. 

I don't know about anyone else but watching virtual productions has been really exhausting in a way lately. At first it was fun, but now when I see the Zoom boxes with the character names listed and all the virtual backgrounds... It's just not doing it for me.

MSM's musical theatre show was basically just like watching a movie on Netflix or something. Really well shot (I believe most of it on iPhone's, across the country, with some occasional NYC on location shots). Very brave and bold to do something so daring. I can only imagine the care that went into it, especially in an educational environment.

As for the musical itself, I hear it was commissioned specifically for their season so this is still in the process of changing. However, it was a very enjoyable performance! I hesitate to say much because I think this would be a great treat for so many of us to view and appreciate. 

I miss going into a show not knowing what's about to happen and that's the feeling I had watching this.
