Does anyone know of any plays set at the World's Fair (chicago)? I vaguely remember hearing about one in a theater class, but I cannot for the life of me remember who it was by or what it was called.
I can’t answer your question, but I’ve always thought there should be a theatrical adaptation of DEVIL IN THE WHITE CITY. I was really looking forward to the film adaptation from Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio... but now it is going to be a mini series on Hulu and DiCaprio and Scorsese are no longer set to star and direct, just produce.
Of course Act II of SHOWBOAT opens at the Chicago World's Fair. There's a whole song about it and everything (though the lyrics completely forget to mention a mass-murderer in their midst.)
Parenthetically, MEET ME IN ST LOUIS concludes at that city's Worlds Fair.
I don't believe I've ever heard of a play that touches on the 1939 World's Fair in New York, or the 1965 one either. Anyone know of any?
