Under a portrait of President George Washington, House Speaker Pelosi just signed the Articles of Impeachment.  They have now been delivered by the House Managers to the Senate, but the actual presentation is tomorrow (January 16).

Historic day.

Vote Blue in 2020.

Maddow's Parnas interview should finally be the straw that broke the camels back.

Trump is ****ed. Pence is ****ed. Barr is ****ed.

There is no way the Republicans can ignore this, especially if Bolton backs up his story.

Did anyone watch Maddow's interview of Lev Parnas?  He dropped some major BOMBS! If Moscow Mitch and Co. don't call witnesses, there should be hell to pay!

The Speaker Of The House marked this "solemn" day by handing out souvenir pens, that is really sad and pathetic. What is next? Maybe sell "Impeach 45" t-shirts outside the Senate as a fund raiser.

Why not? I'd buy one. At least they were spelled correctly, unlike the pens the GOP handed out after the Clinton impeachment.

Then I wonder if she did this as a reminder of what they did for the Clinton impeachment? If so, in my own opinion, it seems a bit childish (for lack of a better term). But this is only the 3rd impeachment so I wonder if this was done at the first? Just my thoughts.

The U.S. House of Representatives has impeached the President of the United States for "High Crimes and Misdemeanors".  Signing the Articles of Impeachment yesterday, Speaker Pelosi exhibited more respect for the Office of the President than the President himself has exhibited in all the days he has occupied the Oval Office.

If there's one thing we've learned over the last 40 years, it's that Republicans can and will ignore anything.  ANYTHING.

Day One of the Impeachment Trial.  But for the fact that Trump is terrified that Joe Biden will take office as President of the United States in 2021, there would be no Impeachment Trial.

How do you take any party seriously if they do something like this which makes it look like a celebration. I have no problem with saying both parties acted like idiots, this is just another example of why people think so little of Congress.

Today was another snoozefest.  Dershowitz is incomprehensible.  Let's see how the GOP tries to wiggle out of allowing witnesses.

It is expected that there will be a vote tomorrow (January 31) to decide whether to call witnesses.  Congressman Schiff has proposed a one-week plan for deposing witnesses.  We shall see.

It is the job of the HOUSE to call witnesses and gather evidence to support their impeachment efforts, not the Senate. The Senate listens to the House's evidence and makes a judgement. The Senate can call House witnesses for further questioning, but they do not call in NEW witnesses to try to help the House prosecute and prove their case.
