If you purchased your Beetlejuice tickets through tkts, where have your seats been located? I’m deciding between purchasing through that or todaytix. Thanks!

TKTS is always best available seating based on the price point the show has made available. TodayTix can get different prices because they send someone to the theatre to purchase the tickets in person. They have no affiliation with the box office, unlike TKTS who is selling from actual box office inventory in real time.

So, story time! Went to see it a month ago. Literally. It was June 12th. The ticket window beside ours had their speaker up like REALLY high and it drown out our own ticket seller. We were seeing it no matter what so we didn't really listen to where the seats were. Kinda half listened, paid, and left. It was like a moment or two after were left the line that I looked at the person I was with and was like, "Wait.......... did she say second row center?" Looked at the tickets and YUP! Row B 105 and 106 for only $81.50 each.

You NEVER know what you are gonna get because it ALL depends on what the theatre releases to them that day. This past Wednesday, I went to see Tootsie. The night before I just glanced at ticketmaster to get an idea of where they might be selling tickets. There were over 100 seats still upstairs the night before but at TKTS that morning, they didn't have a single seat upstairs given to them by the theatre at 10am. Only the back half of the orchestra.

I'm curious how often productions release mezzanine and balcony seats to TKTS. Admittedly I don't use them all that often, but off the top of my head the last TKTS seat that I had that wasn't in the orchestra was for Chicago, and that was back when it was still at the Shubert! (Like I said, I don't use TKTS very often, so my personal sample pool is pretty small)

Thinking it out, and this is just my own logic, it would make sense for the box office to hold on to the cheaper seats. That way they can sort of "down sell" when they have somebody at the box office getting those last minute tickets who might balk over a full price ticket. "Oh, that's kind of expensive, do you have anything cheaper?" "Well, we do have this seat in the mezzanine/balcony."

I think that is often the point with them. You can get 50% off, but it is often 50% off the more expensive orchestra seats.
