2019 Tony Nominations Poll

Posted: 3/27/19 at 2:24pm

I've done this the past few years and it seemed to get a fairly positive response. Everyone seems to have a ton of opinions about Tony nominations so I wanted to go ahead and make a few polls just to gauge where the prospective nominees stand. It could be fun to see what happens when the nominees are announced. Please vote however you desire (i.e. who you think will be nominated or what we personally like the most). I'll make updates as eligibility statuses are announced. Feel free to participate! Polls close on April 29.

I'm pretty sure The Waverly Gallery is being considered for Revival of a Play, not Best Play. Just an FYI

Thanks for setting this up!

Can the people in each category be alphabetized by last name?

It will also be helpful if you put the number of nominees per category at the top of each question.

Oh man, I’m already torn between picking predictions versus picking what I actually want. Usually I’m pretty in line with the critics, but I totally hated one of the frontrunners this year and it’s throwing everything off! #firstworldproblems

Edit: There should be five nominees in all of the creative categories - this is going to be off. The only ones that typically have four are the best shows. Also, I appreciate that you put time into this, but I echo the other commenter that these need to be in alphabetical order. What order ARE they in? I can’t tell.

Bumping

Moved Waverly Gallery to Best Revival instead of Best Play.

Per the rules listed on the official website, I am keeping the number of nominees for the creative categories at four.

As for the order of the nominees in each category, Google Docs randomizes the list for each user. The purpose behind randomization is to not give a distinct advantage to any specific production or prospective nominee (i.e., we are more likely to pick something listed at the top of the ballot as opposed to the bottom)

Thanks for the reminder on this!

Is Choir Boy eligible for score? I thought all of those songs were old existing spirituals.

Do you think Kristine Nielsen will be considered for Best Leading Actress and not Featured?
Thanks for this poll!
