I'm considering seeing a show (Artists For World Peace On Broadway) at The Green Room 42 the next time I'm in town. For those who have been there before, what are the Side View/Back seats like vs. the main dining room? There's a $60 price difference and I'm trying to decide if I should splurge.

Thanks!

Wow, that's an insane price difference.

The gallery below shows photos with views of or from every location in the room. The back seating is farthest from the stage, but the room looks small enough that I can't imagine the view is $60 worse. Also, photo 5 shows the view from the side seats. I haven't been in the space, but just based on these pictures, I'd say save your money and put it toward food and cocktails.

Hoping someone who has been there can say how the room is. Was looking to see Frances Ruffelle and almost same price difference. 82.50 up front and 32.50 side. Small rooms I prefer to be somewhat back from the stage.

I can't imagine paying that much at Green Room 42. I've sat in the middle and it was fine, except that was when they had a long table, so I had to turn my body/head for a good deal of the show (that table appears to be gone now). I've also sat maybe four table lengths away from the stage, and it was a really nice view.

You're in for a treat. My favorite cabaret show in years.

Seats in the middle are fine with no obstruction and might require shifting your chair a tiny bit. Most seats in the far back are also unobstructed, just far back and tall people can block a bit of the view. The room is very small, though, so it's not a huge issue.

The side banquettes are nice, but can require the Linda Blair head spin to see the stage. If you're sitting on the side facing the stage or in a chair on the outside of the table, they're fine, otherwise, it can be very hard to see.

The first time we saw her, we sat at a side banquette, but we got to sit with Wayne Wilcox who was one of her guests and she came over and sat with us before the show started, so that was kinda fun.

Slight spoiler: She tends to wander around the room, at times, and the first time we saw her, she went all the way to the back, sat on a ledge and sang from there so everyone had to turn around. She didn't do that the last time we saw her.

As a last resort and if you're willing to risk it, you could go with TDF, but they can then seat you anywhere they want.

@wolfwriter

Thanks for the detailed report. I am looking forward to seeing her. Not sure how I missed her last time she was there. From what you and Lizzie say I am going for the middle.

Appreciate the info from both of you. :)

I should mention the first show I saw there was Telly Leung, so it was really just him and the small band (meaning whenever anyone in front of me moved, the focus of my attention was at least partially blocked). The second time I went, it was an improv group, so there were also more people to watch.

Seconding the thanks to everyone who responded! I may just pay the extra $60 to get a good view.

You should be fine. I hope you love her as much as we do (and wonder why she's not playing Piaf). I hope you and @Kitsune enjoy your shows.

I sat middle towards the back for Jennifer Simard's debut show and the view was fine. Had to turn my seat but that was no big deal. It was a bit tight but no biggie. I love that room.
