"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
I was wondering when an established show would try this again. I vaguely remember seeing the series related to Grease...which ultimately highlighted Laura Osnes and Max Crumm. In the past, I wondered if "Chicago" would have this type of casting call. The only drawback is that Roxies usually have a short term contract, as opposed to leads in other shows.

They’ve already filmed a UK version casting Velma (possibly Roxie although but I’m not sure) if you find out what happened with that mess it doesn’t anyone on the Chicago or TV production team look good.

ITV's The Big Audition. Can't watch it in the US, though. What happened? Wonder why they would try it again!
