Non actor here, interested in improving voice

I thought to post for some advice.

I would like to improve my speaking voice and dictation. My job requires me to talk a lot, on the phone and face to face, and i find that I can get 'breathy' when I get nervous sometimes. I would like to work on voice projection as well. As actors, I'm sure there are ways you are taught to deal with breathing and speaking clearer - care to share some exercises and points? Books? Websites? Thanks in advance for sharing :)
