What showtunes do you have on repeat today?

We all have songs that we want to listen to "just one more time" before moving on to another classic. I am curious to know what yours are! Mine change frequently, but these two are some I keep coming back to:

"The World Must Be Bigger Than an Avenue" from the 1973 Cast Recording of IRENE sung by, the late, Debbie Reynolds and "Put on Your Sunday Clothes" from the 2017 cast recording of HELLO, DOLLY! led by Gavin Creel.

Lately, I'm in Liz Callaway mode. Specifically, her Anywhere I Wander CD, mostly because of  What Are You Doing New Year's Eve. It's that specific, seasonal tune that brought me back to the album, but I love every cut.

Although Loesser was not as prolific as other composers (regarding stage/screen musicals), he's such an exemplary model for the "quality over quantity" adage.

Hey kids!

1) the OBC of Company with Dean Jones, Elaine Stritch...etc....you can NOT NOT stop listening; Barcelona, Being Alive, Ladies..Lunch, Not Getting Married....

2) SpongeBob Squarepants; GO SEE THIS SHOW! Daddy Knows, Hero Is My Middle Name Squidward, Pearl...SpongeBob...Ethan and that cast make me listen over and over...

3) Anything Goes (just go back and forth between Patti LuPone and Sutton Foster) It's just effing smiles for miles....It makes you so thankful sometimes that these people and performers and artists and dancers, well they just LOVE what they do on stage and the joy it brings to so many of us. 

4) and yes,   THIS TIME NEXT YEAR and THE PERFECT YEAR.... Betty Buckley absolutely BLOWS my mind, so moving, so thoughtful, so vocally paced... "If you're with me, next year will be...the perfect year....." and then the tears start.....BB I love your "Norma"...Happy New Year Darling.....
