Forbidden Broadway ($20 tickets!) Boy from Oz (eh, not to thrilled with paying full price)
Does this sound good? My first picks were Anna in the Tropics and possibly Wonderful town, but Annna doesnt look like its going to hold out and Wonderful Town doesnt have a discount for April I can find just like Boy from Oz, but yet Boy from Oz has Hugh Jackman, my favorite Jarrod Emick, Stephanie J. Block, and Isabel Keating- so I guess they are all worth a lot of money.
Then in the summer I'm thinking: Hairspray, Mamma Mia, and Movin Out. Any good off-broadway shows to see?
It's about a black maid working for a jewish family and the mother dies. Shortly after, the father remarries to the mothers friend. The son in the family is known for having loose change in his pockets. The new mother says to Caroline (the maid) that if she finds any loose change i nthe boys pockets then she can keep the money. Sort of as a raise that the family could never afford to give her. I'm seeing it soon with my grandma, can't wait! Oh, and IF musical of musicals ends up going to a new theatre venue then go to THAT.
"Sing the words, Patti!!!!" Stephen Sondheim to Patti LuPone.
Sounds like an interesting premise for a musical...but I dont know if thats up my alley. I do, however, think that Tonya is very talented- just from hearing her of cast recordings- so may be I'd see it for her.
I hope you enjoy Forbidden Broadway. Caroline or Change is brilliant but it is not for everybody. I loved it. If you want a happier musical see Wonderful Town or Wicked. I loved all of them. Have fun. Avenue Q is a must and they have a 25.00 dollar lottery.
