I will absolutely be protesting, and as a concierge in Times Square I will be telling every tourist that the Rockettes are a waste of their money.

Very disappointed in Texas State as well, and shocked that it has become the battle ground between conservatives and liberals in Texas. If UT is liberal and A&M is conservative, Texas State is half and half. The recent events there are very upsetting.

Thank you, JM226, that appears to be the case.  (at least maybe, I'm still hearing very contrary reports).

Most of you on this board are really living up to the "whiny liberal" stereotype. Before you all make your judgements, I will make this abundantely clear: I'm in no way a fan of Donald Trump. Never have been.

But would I ever boycott the Rockettes? Absolutely not. It's an honor for them to be making an inaugural performance. I'm sure they'd perform for Hillary Clinton if she were elected. Their performance is in no way representative of their beliefs.

This issue is about to air on CBS news, as I watch. Anyone who wants to, can bow out.

If you can't understand the difference between performing at the inauguration of the fascist that is Donald Trump versus performing for most other Republicans, then you're a real idiot.

I imagine if this was an inaugural event for John Kasich or even Mitt Romney, no one would say anything.

Any liberal who wants to whine at Suzanne Doris at AGVA, the woman who wrote that godawful email threatening the Rockettes with retribution, her email address is sdoris@agvausa.com

You may supposedly not be a "fan" but you're certainly not against him despite everything he has said and done, and that's all we need to know. I would rather lose my job (especially one pushing me to legitimize him) than perform at his inauguration.

It would be an impressive statement if no Rockettes agreed to actually perform.

Most of you on this board are really living up to the "whiny liberal" stereotype.

Well, you're living up to the hypocrite conservative stereotype.  You know, where they call liberals "whiny" because they voice disapproval, but call it "free speech" when they behave exactly the same way (or often worse).  Why even call it "whining" when it's not actually whining?  Because it's a "liberal" doing it instead of a conservative.  That's definitely worthy of the Kathy Griffin slow clap of sarcastic appreciation.

Ha. Good one. Call it "voicing disapproval" all you want. It's whining. It's not accepting change. Deal with it honey. I am very liberal but it's got to stop. It's December. Move on

Aaaand there you have it. This meltdown from many of you wasn't out of concern for Rockettes being pressured and forced and uncomfortable—it was just another delicious excuse for you to wedge personal politics and your dislike for Trump into things. To quote PEOTUS... sad!

Can't wait to see these talented ladies perform at the start of a new chapter for our country in just a few weeks—and I'm excited for them and this opportunity that they've received!

Call it "whining" all you want.  It isn't.  And by your own definition, you should quit whining about liberals.  They are changing and you're not accepting it.  In actual reality, we are accepting this change and we are reacting to it.  Deal with it honey.  You're not very liberal and it's not going to stop.  Not for the next four years, at least.  Move on and stop telling people how to feel about this.

Lmao why is it sad to hate a racist, facist/white nationalist, idiot who encourages the bigots in this country and gives them a voice, platform, and even goddamn control. What even are you saying.

It's literally hilarious that they whine about liberals whining when they are boycotting something on twitter that said something bad about Trump every single day.

From twitter:

So the Rockettes should "do their jobs" but the pharmacists who won't fill birth control prescriptions or the bakers who won't serve gay people shouldn't?

this discussion which has become political and shouldnt is irrelevant because THEY ARE NOT BEING FORCED!!!  THIS WAS A VOLUNTARY OPPORTUNITY/JOB OFFERED TO THE FULL-TIME ROCKETTES.  many accepted and the company has already filled up its necessary number of participants..  the end !

THEY ARE NOT BEING FORCED!!!

Not now after the agreement was reached this evening, but if you read the article, it's not that cut-and-dry.  Hooray for the women who want to dance for Captain Creamsicle.  I've no doubt he will appreciate them in his own special way, considering NO ONE respects women, especially those in revealing outfits, MORE than him.

Personally, I hope to watch the Freedom Concert, but if it doesn't happen.  I'll be watching anything other than watching Captain Creamsicle climax to ladies so very happy to be pleasing him.

That claim by MSG sounds fake, but okay.

i posted this previously ---- DO U READ ANYONE ELSES POSTS?? ---- but it was confirmed in the meeting on thursday morning the job was not obligatory. you could opt out if you like.  you base your own post off inaccurate and false social media posts + a false note by the guild which had NOTHING to do with this!!  ask anyone in the thursday morning meeting.  or don't and just pretend like it doesn't matter.... i do not care!  the facts are the facts.  the circumstances surrounding this job have never changed. not once.

I didn't.  But since "u" are so fond of the caps lock, I BASED IT OFF THE ARTICLE YOU LINKED. DO U READ YOUR OWN POSTS?  IF U DON'T CARE THEN DON'T RESPOND.

GAWD.

You have bigger things to worry about than me or the Rockettes, anyway.

Does anyone who voted for Trump really even care if "A - listers" are there or perform?  I mean, isn't that part of the point of voting for someone outside the political establishment?  All those celebrities were out there banging the drum for Clinton and it didn't get her into office.

I've voted in every election since I turned 18 over 20 years ago and have never watched a single inauguration.  I personally wish they would just do the swearing in and get to work - then give all the money saved on all the hoopla to education.  wink

Following on from blm--the only people who should be watching, theoretically, are the people who voted for Him so doesn't really matter who does what--without duress.

For something like this-do the performers ask or are they asked?

The organisers have the right of refusal so to does the performer.

I won't be watching-rather see Chicago with Mel B
