OVER THERE

A Cavalcade of Songs and Remembrance Commemorating WW I

Monday, November 14th     7 PM

Created by Karin Baker with Musical Arrangements and Additional Music by David Hancock Turner

Directed by Lee Roy Reams; Sound & Visual Design by Jhoneen Doswell

The Actors’ Temple

339 West 47th Street, between 8th & 9th Aves.

An historic revue for young and old, showing the tragic events of “The War to End all Wars,” WW I.

A tapestry of songs from the era recreates its history; letters written from the front lines, poetry and visuals; newspaper clippings, posters, sheet music and sounds from that time add to the drama.

OVER THERE shows the reluctance of America to become involved in the war through dialogue with three iconic Broadway composers: Jerome Kern, Irving Berlin and George M. Cohan, and two star performers, Sophie Tucker and Ma Rainey, from the years 1914-1919.
