I haven't seen much buzz about it, so I was just curious, how does one get tickets? Did you have to purchase them in advance, or is it the same system as Shakespeare in the Park? I'd really like to go but I'm not sure how.

Tickets are free.  There are 3 ways to obtain them, all on the day of the performance.  You can wait in line at The Delacorte in Central Park.  You can enter the lottery downtown at The Public Theater.  You can enter an online lottery via Today Tix.   This is explained on the following page that has links to these three options:

Did anyone see this last night?

Also, for those who have attended Public Works performances in the past, any suggestions about what time to arrive to get in line for tickets?

The show is incredible. One of the finest things I've seen all year - brilliant and hilarious. Shaina Taub is unreal. The line was very long yesterday, much longer than I encountered this summer.

Being an out of tlowner I didn't know any better and "bought" a ticket. It was worth it though. As the poster above me said it is a fantastic show. I suggest going tonight with the weather looking not great going forward. Not to be missed.

I'm thinking of going tomorrow at 6am. Would that be a good time?

I would get in line very early to secure tickets! 6 am sounds like a good time. The line will be very long and the show will sell out. With a cast of over 200 and a huge production team with everyone getting 6-8 comps involved in the show; plus all the industry people that will be wanting to see the show— it will sell out and tickets will be hard I obtain. I had to give 4 of my comps to higher ups in the industry last year... But I couldn't complain, with who I got to sit next to and right behind at the closing night performance!

I assisted the creative team on one of the PublicWorks musicals in the past— it really is a special program and I urge everyone to try and see it if they can. I wish I was in the city right now- or I would try and see it this year!

Got to see this tonight via the standby line. For anyone planning to get tickets that way, I'd be sure to get there early. I arrived around 4:30 and was maybe 15th in line, and by the time a ticket was in my hand at 7:45, the line behind me was verrrrry long.

The wait was worth it, however, as this was sensational all-around. Twelfth Night is one of my favorite Shakespeare plays, and it's pared down well while still retaining all of the humor and romance. A big part of this comes from Shaina Taub's songs. Some, like Malvolio's number or a song called "You're the Worst" for the clowns, are quite fun, and there are a number of ballads that are heartbreakingly beautiful. In particular, there's a gorgeous song to take the place of Viola's ring speech. The cast- professionals and amateurs alike- couldn't be bettered. Nikki M. James and Andrew Kober were the standouts as Viola and Malvolio, and Jacob Ming-Trent continues to be an invaluable presence as Sir Toby- it's always so nice to see him on stage. The cameo groups are also all great- the Japanese drumming group is especially jaw-dropping.

Public Works is one of my favorite events of the year. Like The Odyssey last year, the whole show is infused with joy from every participant, and it's so fulfilling just to be in the audience and take it all in. Run to see this if you can- even if you have to wait a while for tickets, it will be well worth it.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

I got there at 6am and ended up being first. The line stretched around the bend but I think everyone who got there before 10am got tickets.
