I told a friend about the Broadway.com tickets because she needed to buy two Hamilton tickets as a special thank-you for someone, and at least this is a not-too-outrageous way of getting seats.

I bet these tickets will go fast too.

Another bonus (or downside, depending on your point of view) is that the Broadway.com tickets can't be resold on Ticketmaster by scalpers.

I wonder if that's why Broadway.com suddenly has a lot of tickets that Ticketmaster doesn't have.  If I were Hamilton's producers and wanted to cut back on scalping, I would want to encourage purchases through a seller that doesn't permit resale.  (I'm just speculating about his happening, by the way--I'm still not clear on how Broadway.com gets the tickets it's selling.  But if it gets them straight from Hamilton, it could explain why they've suddenly got tickets that Ticketmaster doesn't.)

If they BOTH had them, you'd run into problems.  (Maybe I'm not understanding your intent.)

You can still always resell tickets on stubhub, so I don't know how much this changes anything.

^ That's rather difficult as others have said you can only pick up at the box office the day of.

Oh I didn't realize that as I've never bought tickets from them. I stand corrected.

If broadway.com wasn't legit, I don't think the Hamilton website would say this:

"There are many ticket resellers and secondary markets for tickets. For the best seats and to eliminate the risk of fraud, get tickets in advance through the Box Office, TicketmasterTicketmaster Plus or Broadway.com. Purchasing tickets from any other seller runs a high risk of receiving fraudulent tickets."

I admit I have purchased through broadway.com before I knew better, and never had a problem with tickets.

I wanted to thank you so much for the tip about Broadway.com. I too was in the group of individuals who kept getting bumped out of Ticketmaster Sunday night. Figuring I was out of luck, I decided to check these boards on a whim knowing you guys have always been a great source of information. Although I hate Broadway.com's excessive fees, I was able to find Front Mezz row D center for January for far less than what resale is going for, and what (I hope) is a pretty decent location.

This will be my first trip to NYC in ten (!) years, and my husband's first, so I am so excited to find these tickets!

Hello - thank you so much for the advice here.

AFter strking out on Sunday night, we were able to get 'affordable ' January 2017 tickets for my family in the center front Mezz row C for $347 ea.yesterday on Broadway.com.   Thanks to you guys my 15 year old daughter is going  to completely lose her mind when we announce our Hamilton date on her summer birthday.

The only question in my mind is with same day box office ticket pick up as the method of getting my tickets - if something goes awry and one or more of us can't make it for some reason - will it be possible to put a ticket in a different name at the box office.  And if possible, would this be done with Broadway.com or the Hamilton box office?

Thanks broadwayworld.com message board for helping us regular folks get tickets. (it will be interesting to see how much the cast changes by next January - but I feel confident it will be a great show regardless).

I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your question, but Broadway.com says that a valid ID has to be presented when picking up the tickets. I'm guessing that it won't be easy to change the name on the tickets, because these policies are in place to thwart scalpers. But you can certainly call and ask!

My understanding is that the ticket purchaser has to show ID, then you will be handed all your tickets. What you want to do with them at that point is up to you.

Also, did you happen to buy the insurance? It was $20 per ticket, and Broadway.com added it automatically. Maybe you have it. Check your receipt.

thanks macnyc - I didn't go for the cancellation insurance - and fully plan to be there to use our tickets.  I guess I was just wondering what my options would be should we need to leave 1 for someone else in their name when the day comes (not likely).   I was so happy to buy them that I didn't fully process that I will not have any option other than same day box office pick up 30 min. before the show.

After you pick them up, up could easily ask them to hold one for someone else in their name.

It looks like the new block dates (Jan 31 - May 2017) have Amex preferred premium seats available.  They're showing up on Ticketmaster now when they weren't before.
