According to Michael Riedel, yes. Wow, at an age when most veteran dancers are hanging up their tap shoes, Hugh, now 46, is out to challenge himself yet again and break out of his comfort zone. Warren Carlyle will again choreograph, as he did for BACK ON BROADWAY. With a pile of movies awaiting him, he'll be at least 47 when he gets to this. Gotta admire his stamina and dedication. Good on ya, Hugh!
I'm saving up starting now. Likely no $35 Access seats for this one.
He was the first lead Curly to dance the dream ballet in Oklahoma! ( London RNT revival). He won the Fred Astaire award for The Boy from Oz. In the same year, he dazzled everyone when he danced with the real Rockettes at the TONYs. On Back on Broadway, in his movie musicals medley he channeled many of the olden dancing stars. In last year's TONYs, he joined the tap dance by the After Midnight cast.
