I was reading yesterdays London's Evening Standard, which had a cracking article by Michael Morpurgo obviously about War Horse, which I have included for you.

It got me thinking what a waste to gave the Winter Garden dark, especially over the holiday period, when so many New Yorkers, Americans and tourists want to see a show.

Obviously a Christmas show could of taken this theatre, such as ; Elf, A Christmas Story or Dr Seuss, would certainly pulled the families in, also with the US tour completing in September, this could of taken the Garden and would of given people opportunity to see this who wouldn't of gone to the Lincoln Centre.

A shame to see a theatre that is dark?

Has the Wolf Hall marquee gone up yet?

Yep, saw it today. Though not fully up.
The sides are, but not the front.

I hate seeing dark theatres especially when so many shows are trying to find a home!

I'm about to buy tix for Wolf Hall etc and I don't believe I've ever been in this theater. (I saw Mama Mia in London) Is it a barn? Is the mezzanine acres from the stage? Any thoughts on seating there would be appreciated.

The theatre is weird. It's long, but not deep. So the Mezz isn't too far away. I've only seen Rocky there, and didn't feel too far away, but a play might feel different. But I'd say near the center.

The mezzanine is fine as long as you're centered.

Just as I'd thought from the pricing. Thanks for letting me know it will be OK upstairs.

And I looked at Wiki and by jove, I've never been in this theater! I'd thought I'd been to them all.
