I wonder if Charlotte will take an absence as well (probably for their theatre camp) if they will bring in a temporary like John or just have understudies go on...
This is such delightful news! I wasn't really planning to see Pippin again, but this might just get me to change my mind!
The knife throwing is pretty damn simple.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
The knife throwing is an illusion. The knives pop out from the box.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
I took that as more of a character choice- an aging, syphilitic rock star as the basis for this production's Charlemagne as opposed to a Great Shakespearean interpreter.
not to threadjack but can someone explain how pippin gets in the damn box for spread a little sunshine? the other 2 i can figure out.
"Grease," the fourth revival of the season, is the worst show in the history of theater and represents an unparalleled assault on Western civilization and its values. - Michael Reidel

Is it? (which it may be), but if I remember correctly, in an interview, Terrence said that Diane asked everyone one kind of trick(s) or special talent can you bring to the show. Terrence said he is a professional Knife thrower. Which then was personally incorporated into the show specifically for Terrence and Charlotte. I could be wrong, but I remember reading or hearing that in an interview. Besides if they do keep the knife throwing bit in, it can be fake still to produce.
yep, it's fake. you'll notice the slits in the box where the knives pop out.
