If Holler if You Hear Me doesn't last, would this be too big of a theatre to put the new production of Miss Saigon in?

Cameron Macintosh has a fantastic working relationship with the Shubert Organization, so it would most likely end up in a Shubert-owned house.

The only decent show that's played The Palace within the last decade or so is WEST SIDE STORY.

AIDA, ALL SHOOK UP, LESTAT, LEGALLY BLONDE, PRISCILLA and ANNIE all were at worst unwatchable and at best subpar musicals.

MISS SAIGON would be an improvement over the aforementioned shows if it were to play at The Palace.

The Palace is slated for a renovation as soon as HOLLER closes.

Is the renovation not just a removal of the stadium seating to restore the house seats.

What about it going to the Lyric/Foxwoods? Any chance it would be feasible there?

I think it would depend on if King Kong is truly just delayed or outright cancelled.

Why not pull a Les Mis and bring it back home to the Broadway?

Well that would require Cinderella to close.

^ This sounds like the most possible option. I don't think this will play a Nederlander house. It will most likely go into a Shubert house, although they have limited options. The Imperial, Majestic, and Shubert (all of which would be a good fit) are most likely still going to be occupied by their current productions at least through the winter of this year. The Winter Garden could very well be open this time next season, and I think it's safe to say Cinderella will be closing in at the end of the summer, so the Broadway is definitely an option. I have a feeling that this will be going into the Broadway.

Miss Saigon a "mediocre" musical?

Got to admit it has done quite well for a crap musical with a movie on the horizon

Cameron is laughing all the way to the bank

"Well that would require Cinderella to close."

Cinderella will be close after Labor Day (September 7) or January 3. According to the press release today...
-"Both Faure and Opel will star on Broadway through September 7."
-"with a new block of tickets available starting Monday, May 26 through January 3, 2015."

I am guessing they will see how the show fares throughout the summer without big names attached. If it can get by, they will probably go through the winter then close in January. If the show suffers without names during the summer, I could see the producers closing up shop on September 7. Either way, I think it's safe to say that the Broadway will be vacant for a new production for the spring. Plus, based on how well Les Miserables is doing back at its home, I imagine the Shuberts are eager to do the same thing with Miss Saigon.

No... removal of the stadium seats would be a "restore". A renovation is currently planned which is a larger project.

I think Holler will be a HUGE FLOP.

I do not see it being a big ticket seller.
