JCS's 2012 revial's announcment wa the only good thing about the show..it was something like no cellphones or flashphotography, but unwrap your candy at anytime and feel free to eat as loudly as you please because there is no way anyone will here you of Andrew Loyd Webbers bloody score.
I am paraphrazing, but it was indeed the only thing i like about the show
The Book of Mormon's is such a disappointment. There was so much they could have done and they went with, "Please turn off your cellphones. We will begin in five minutes."
There was a great one in The Rocky Horror Show at the Old Globe. The big red lips were projected onto the screen and she said something like "For the enjoyment of audience members please turn off your cellular phones, and for my enjoyment please pass all other electronic vibratory devices to the front."
I still remember the one from the Sandy Duncan PETER PAN revival which had the late Christopher Hewitt (Tv's Mr. Belvedere) announcing in Capt. Hook's voice: "This is Capt Hook warning you that the use of cameras or recording devices is strictly prohibited. Anyone caught using such a device will be forced to walk the plank! And now, (in an evil/sweet tone) I hope you enjoy the show. Mehehehehehe hehehe!!" At which point the first CRASH of the Peter Pan overture came in like clockwork. I was only a kid, but I still remember that.
The Addams Family's pre-show announcement was "The use of bows & arrows, torches, and all other medieval torture devices is strictly prohibited during the performance, but is strongly encouraged during Intermission.
Also, I don't remember what they said exactly, but Shrek the Musical's was voiced by Julie Andrews.
what was Priscilla's again? Sister Act was "The use of recording devices, is a sin. and for heaven's sake turn off your cell phones. can i get an amen?" then the audience would say AMEN. haha. Book of Mormon should be creative. What about Elf?
