I was looking forward to seeing Nicole Parker as Elphaba on tour in Vegas, but it looks like she's now been replaced by Dee.

Looks like she's played the part quite a few performances... how does she compare?

Um, I'm totally biased because I LOVE Dee, but she will NOT disappoint! She has been playing Elphaba since 2006 and she is my favorite Elphaba :) I'm jealous you get to see her! I have seen Nicole and I like Dee better, but it's just a personal choice I guess.

Thanks so much for the recommendation^ I've been watching videos of Dee... and she's a great vocalist - but almost seems "too intense", if that's the right word. Of course its hard to base an opinion on short youtube clips, so I'm still excited to see her, and she seems to have quite a fanbase. Nicole seemed more up my alley with how I envision the character and how she should evolve over the show.

However - I remember being slightly disappointed with clips of Jackie Burns and she absolutely blew me away... probably the best Elphaba I've seen - so hopefully Dee will do the same.

No problem! I felt the same when I saw Jackie! The thing with Dee is its how you imagine the character. That is how I imagined Elphaba so that is why I liked her so much. Her acting is definitely one of the best if not the best acting of any Elphaba. I had like 18 videos of her on youtube, but they were taken down yesterday. She has really improved since Broadway and Chicago! If you haven't listened to this recording of No Good Deed, it's my favorite, not great quality, but I love the riff! I hope you have a great time seeing her! :)

Saw Dee's last show on Broadway and thought she was great. A year and a half later when she came around with the tour in DC saw her twice. The first was double as good as on Broadway. Definitely a very intense Elphaba. This was a Thursday night, though, and not that it should make a difference, a month later on a Saturday night she blew the roof off the of the Kennedy Center. I never imagined her to be as good as she was. I knew she could sing, but wow, she really sang. She could have only gotten better since, so enjoy!

deeluver95, that recording was stunning. It gave me the chills. That last "agaiiinnnnn" riff was fabulous. Probably the best "No Good Deed" I have ever heard.

Theatre is my life. No one can take that away from me.

I know! I wish the recording quality was better since the person was sitting in the back, but I was able to see when she did it once live on the National Tour. It was AMAZING! Thank you for watching! :)

My sister and her husband saw her and thought she was very good in the role. They thought her voice was very strong and she brought depth to the role.

I thought she was quite bland. Her voice is fantastic, but her portrayal was too well put together for me. I look for intensity, passion, sometimes even raw messiness.

I was not a fan of Dee's Elphaba - she came off bland and almost boring, her performance lacked a lot of the usual passion and drive I saw from other Elphabas. Also, her voice (aside from No Good Deed) wasn't all that great, plus her breathing and odd finger twitching got a little distracting and annoying. I will say - she's a lovely woman and I'm sure outside of the role, she's wonderful and talented, but her take on Elphaba was not my cup of tea.

I mean, as I said, its your own interpretation of Elphaba. I have seen a lot of Elphabas and I actually thought Dee's interpretation was the most realistic to the character, but it also depends on which show you saw her in and what night. The finger twitching is not really that odd, its actually part of the character of Elphaba, not necessarily a Dee thing. As far as singing, I agree that No Good Deed is her best song, but I have heard both Dee and Idina live singing the songs of Wicked and I liked Dee's interpretation of Elphaba better.

Well... count me as a Dee convert.

I saw her Friday night in Vegas and she blew me away... She not only had a beautiful voice, but a touching interpretation of the character as well. I liked her Wizard and I, but was completely blown away by her Defying Gravity, and esp. her No Good Deed. She had excellent chemistry with Patti Murin who was also an outstanding Glinda. This touring production is in good hands.

I really haven't been into Wicked at all the year, but wow this performance is fantastic. Patti and Dee compliment each other so well and it's pretty moving even without costume/makeup, and I was never a fan of For Good.

Dee plays a very dark Elphaba; it'll really change the show for you (if you've seen it before). If you haven't seen it, she's a great first Elphaba!

She is spectacular! She has a clear, crisp voice and has a great understanding of her character. I've seen her as Elphaba twice; she will not disappoint!
