Just got back from a very quick trip to NYC. Took my 16 year old son to the city for the first time. We saw, Zarkana, Evita, Clybourne Park and Ghost (in 48 hours). I must admit, all shows are worth your money. My son has seen his fair share of shows on tour in Nashville (where we live). He is by no way one who would have ever opted to see a Broadway show on his own. After seeing Ghost last night, he has concluded that Ghost is his favorite Broadway show. What a great night, great show and great cast. I had my window card signed by the four leads. All great. The reason for my post is this.....go see it before it closes! If he enjoyed it as much as I did, you will have a great time! And take your kids!

I'm just curious as to what other favorites your son has. I didn't hate GHOST but by no means is it my favorite Broadway show. Definitely better than EVITA though.

His favorite prior to Ghost was In The Heights. He really did enjoy Zarkana. Had to attempt and explain that was not really Broadway. I just asked him and he says, Wicked, Memphis and Young Frankenstein.

Oh yeah and A Chorus Line.....he didn't like the local production as much as he figured....but "knows it's a great show".

Thank you! And trust me, he is not a theatre guy at all. I don't want to say I "force" him to go, but he knows we have season tickets in Nashville. He is a full on athlete, but now since he has had exposure, he is taking drama next year. Never saw that coming!

Me too. I'm 13 and I'm going to see it for my 3rd time on the 15th. Definitely one of my favorites.

It's just wonderful that he's taking drama next year! I just had to come comment on that, as it's small things like that, that keep the theatre community (and education) growing!!

I completely agree with you, I saw Ghost in previews with very little knowledge of what it was about. I loved it. It was the first show I full out bawled at. I connected to it for some reason. Sure it isn't the usual Broadway show because of its sets and score, but I thought it was really cool. I was very sad when I heard it was closing and I really want to try to see it again. But I second the original posters statement that people should see it. I didn't listen to all the negative reviews on this Board and got to see something I really loved.

I was the same way. I was never a big fan of the movie. I had heard the negative reactions to the show from here and other sources.
Working in NYC and had a free evening, so I went to TKTS to see if they had something I had not seen. I randomly chose Ghost.
Loved it, cool music, great visual effects, and then I remembered how the basic story from the movie is very good.
I cried at the ending.
It is not the best musical ever, it is not groundbreaking like Gypsy, Oklahoma or Chorus Line, but it was a very enjoyable and entertaining evening.
