I don't know if this always occurs but last year I was at The Book of Mormon they night they got a million nominations and the whole cast was literally glowing and I don't think there was a speech (I'm trying to remember, if there was it was very short!) but curtain call was extended while the three nominees took extra bows.
Did anyone have an experience like that tonight?
Scratch and claw for every day you're worth!
Make them drag you screaming from life, keep dreaming
You'll live forever here on earth.
Not completely relevant to the thread topic... but I saw Wicked on June 8, 2004, the first performance after the Tonys. Idina got MASSIVE applause for her entrance and every number. Also, during "Popular", Kristin handed Idina the mirror and instead of saying, "you're beautiful," she said, "looks like a Tony!" And there was a standing ovation. Some won't like that little break of the fourth wall, but it's a fun story nonetheless.
Yes. I saw End of the Rainbow tonight and Tracie Bennett was amazing. She received two standing ovations and totally deserved more. I like the extra song after the first curtain call - a lot of people left and missed it!
