I was checking Ticketmaster for ticket availability. There are just a handful left of the $90.00 tix in Mezzanine. Those are the cheapest ones that are available. With fees and taxes, it came out to $103.70. I've been at the Marquis once before, when I saw "Drowsy." from RC in Austin, Texas
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
For those living in NYC and the surrounding area, waiting is an option. I live 1,513 miles away. I get to visit NYC once a year. Monday, March 12th happens to be the last night of my 3 nite visit to the Big A. from RC in Austin, Texas P.S. I'm sure Patti LuPone will attend "Evita" at some point, though I can't imagine her going to see the show at the same time as ALW.

I'm seeing it the end of March -- hopefully that will give them enough time to tighten it up. Very much looking forward to it.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
Or worse, Patti could wind up being in the same room with the "Evita" who (allegedly) was undercutting her? I forget the name. RC in Austin, Texas

Patti has pride, but she is also a pro. She will be there opening night with Mandy as her protector on her arm. She'd be a fool to not attend the opening (She is EVITA!) and I know for a fact she would love to wish Elena well and show up to support her. Patti is VERY supportive of other actors.
"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal
"I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello
Any chance that during the final performance we'll get a 'surprise' where Elena and Patti will play rock-paper-scissors to alternate scenes? They can even share the bed together and both die at the end. Would be charming!
"I'm seeing the LuPone in Key West later this week. I'm hoping for great vocals and some sort of insane breakdown..." - BenjaminNicholas2
PattiLuPoneFANatic, the person whose name you're searching for is Terri Klausner. I saw every Eva Peron who played the original run and no kidding, Klausner was my favorite Eva. She was also quite good in SOPHISTICATED LADIES. I had no idea until I read LuPone's tome, how she felt about Terri Klausner. As the show was coming in to New York and during previews, there was lots of speculation that LuPone might get canned. I'm very much a LuPone fan since around MASTER CLASS, but I was shocked she won the Tony for EVITA. She always seemed like she ran out of breath halfway thru the second act.
Another reason I struggled with LuPone is because up until I saw her previews, I had been addicted to the Elaine Paige recording. She and Patti LuPone have such different qualities and types of power. Updated On: 1/18/12 at 08:08 PM
