Leo Friedman, half of the fabled team of Friedman Abeles, who photographed nearly all the major Broadway productions of the 1950's-60's, has died at age 92.

The slideshow accompanying his Times obituary is for me nothing short of magnificent, displaying a talent fully equal to the Broadway legends he photographed. You'll recognize many if not most of these images from cast albums and books, but seeing them together in fine resolution is a treat and a sad but wonderful reminder of a Broadway the likes of which we probably won't see again.
