Just a Side note Giuseppe Bausilio will be Joining the broadway company on Tuesday he just finished playing the role of Billy on tour along with performing in the the show back in chicago all I have to say is New York Audiences are in for a real treat he's absolutely Charming in the role and simply fantastic.
I would definitely see him again too it was truly a magical night at the theatre he has talent and has a spark that I haven't seen in the other billy's.
Very educated guess...most you'll get is that the Friday Billy likely won't be there...and even that's only about 99% sure...unless they get down to one Billy(it's happened) nothing is for sure, ie Jacob announced date just went from June 5 to July 3. I love how they just changed the dates in the old articles(who goes back to reread those). Some people are going to be wu roses on June 5 I think lol.
When has the billy elliot cast ever been down to 1 billy? I know they've gotten down to 2 occasionally, but never 1. The tour actually was down to 2 recently which I think is why Jacob extended...because Giuseppe was suppose to leave tour and then come to bway to replace Jacob but right after Giuseppe left all the billys got sick and they were down to 2 billys for a week so they called giuseppe back for a bit.
I wouldn't think that the production would ever LET it get down to only one boy. I know that accidents can happen, people can fall ill, etc. but that seems very unlikely. From 4 boys in rotation you would have to lose 2 to get down to only 2 boys, then another. I'm betting that by the time you get down to 2 you are already calling different productions to fly in someone.
As an aside, if someone wanted to go on Sunday night, I'm selling 2 front-row tickets. See the other thread & PM if interested!
Actually, they have in fact gotten down to one boy. I'm pretty sure Kiril did 5 or 6 shows in a row and either David or Trent was slightly well enough to cover as s/b, but did not go on unless they absolutely had to. I'll try to find the dates.
EDIT: Okay, so I was partially wrong. Trent was the "only if they HAD to" standby, but he was thrown in for 3 shows out of 8, and Kiril's run wasn't a consecutive 5. Still, Kiril did 5 shows in one week, and it was his final week in 2009. A very demanding role, he's only a young teenager, it's amazing. And he had to have enough energy to finish with a bang for his final performance. Here are the dates if anyone cares:
-Tuesday, September 29th - Kiril/Trevor, Trent as Tall Boy -Wednesday, September 30th - Trent/Trevor, Keean as Tall Boy; Kiril/Keean, Trent as Tall Boy -Thursday, October 1st - Kiril/Keean, Trent as Tall Boy -Friday, October 2nd - Kiril/Trevor, Jacob as Tall Boy (Jacob's first show!) -Saturday, October 3rd - Trent/Keean, Jacob as Tall Boy; Kiril/Keean, Jacob as Tall Boy (Kiril's last show :*( ) -Sunday, October 4th - Trent/Trevor, Jacob as Tall Boy

I do remember that, now that you posted that. But at least they had someone that they could turn to when they needed him. And, of course, note that Alex started immediately after this week, so they knew they had a fresh, new young boy waiting to start.
I kind of remember that as well. But was Trent really only if they really need him? Cause he was on for tall boy during three of those shows too so he couldn't have been that sick or whatever. Plus maybe they just gave Kiril David A's show that week since it was his last week in the show (so kiril would did his 3, plus davids 2 shows and trent did his own originally assigned 3).
Funnily enough I heard the story from Trent himself. I believe he was slightly hurt, so they had him on as Tall Boy. And David was really hurt, so Kiril got his shows. If Trent was fully up to par they would have at least split it 4 and 4. I don't think they've ever only had one though, including not having a standby.
In June last year Billy Elliot in London was down to one Billy. Ollie Gardner performed 6 times that week and to give him a break they brought Fox Jackson-Keen in to perform the Saturday matinee show and he had left the show 2 months previously. For the Saturday evening show they had Aaron Watson as stand-by and he had not even started then.
And then Alex hurt himself fairly quickly...stuff happens and throws off well laid plans pretty quickly. And in Kirils case those 5 shows trashed his singing voice...no way they'd have him do that on his last week unless there was no other choice. Yes you can fly in a Billy but there ARE differences in the shows so it takes about 2 weeks to get them up to speed, it's been done but if your down to 1 Billy you need to take even more drastic measures ie pull a Billy out of retirement or use a new Billy(not a great idea)
