I am happy for all the fellow board members we wanted that to happen. I may pick up a copy when it gets out, though I didn't see it, but I have the London DVD (good but not great IMO)!
THANK GOD!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so afraid that they weren't going to make one. It has one of the most beautiful and the most orginal scores of this season. It is too bad that it is closing. In a time where Broadway seems to be more focused on spectacle and bigger setts, it was great to see a show that was orginal and willing to take a chance. It is also so great that Rosie and BOy George are so dedicated to this project. I am SOOO gald that we will at least have the great vocal preformances of Euan and Raul Epsarza on CD.
I am glad since the score is getting the most positive buzz. I am not sure I would have shelled out a hundred bucks to see it, even if I was in New York. But I'll shell out the 15 for the CD.
"I'm learning to dig deep down inside and find the truth within myself and put that out. I think what we identify with in popular music more than anything else is when someone just shares a truth that we can relate to. That's what I'm searching for in my music." - Ron Bohmer
"I broke the boundaries. It wasn't cool to be in plays- especially if you were in sports & I was in both." - Ashton Kutcher
Don't know how much truth there is in it as Playbill states that they couldn't verify the info. A supposed "friend" of Boy George claimed (from the lips of Boy George) that it is merely a publicity stunt to encourage interest in the show and that there is no recording or book in the works. Don't get your hopes up. It may all be gossip for now.

Hmmm, I'd tend to agree with MisterMatt, as usually, they announce the record label that will be releasing the recording.
But I have a question... do you think Taboo would have done better with a release of the recording long before the show ever debuted? In an Evita/Jesus Christ Superstar sorta way. I only ask this because I too enjoyed the songs in the show and most likely have been very eager to see the show. thanks, avid.

Well, Rosie herself stated on the Taboo forum that they record on Feb 2nd and it will be released as soon as possible. She also apologized for it taking so long.

I read that thread, too, MisterMatt, and I wouldn't put much weight behind it. Any real "friend" of George's that has any significance at all would probably not go around posting his thoughts on a public message board. If it were true, George would probably come out and say so himself!
I also don't see how the prospect of a cast recording would generate interest among those who've not seen the show. Personally, I tend to buy a CD after I've seen a show and know for sure I'd want to have it! I just don't see the point in this as a mere publicity stunt since the CD most likely wouldn't be released until after the closing anyway.
As it has been mentioned, Rosie did confirm studio dates herself. As this point, why would she lie to the fans on the Taboo forum? Fans are going to see the show no matter what, CD or no CD. She should be focusing elsewhere... we're a sure thing!

Perfect love, perfect sin...there is no perfect anything.
I didn't put much stock in the comment, either. I just thought it was interesting. I do think there might be some interest in the CD given the amount of publicity (positive or negative) the show has had. Plus, there is a resurgence of 80s music in the US and many Boy George fans, so it could do well. Maybe....
