This has probably been discussed in the past, but my searches weren't much help.
I am putting together a musical revue for a high school, and an intriguing theme I encountered was a sort of battle of the sexes. I am looking for songs which extol the virtues of each gender, along with a few songs about feuding and a few about making up. Here are ones I came up with off the top of my head.
I'm a Woman (Smokey Joe's Cafe) Man (The Full Monty) I Enjoy Being a Girl (Flower Drum Song) How Lovely to be a Woman (Bye, Bye Birdie) If You Got It, Flaunt it (The Producers) I Hate Men (Kiss Me, Kate) 100 Easy Ways to Lose a Man (Wonderful Town) Anything You Can Do (Annie Get Your Gun) It Takes Two (Into the Woods) Therapy (tick, tick...BOOM) There Once Was a Man (The Pajama Game)
I am particularly coming up short with songs about men. You guys are better than any search engine in the world. Thanks in advance for your help!
I'm Gonna Wash That Man...(South Pacific) I am 16 (Sound of Music) Anything You Can Do (Annie Get Your Gun)
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
I should also mention that if you think of any songs that fit the theme but aren't from shows (like I Am Woman, Hear Me Roar or You're So Vain, for example), feel free to list those too!
The blues number "I'm a Man", Helen Reddy's tune "I am Woman". There's a great song from Jelly's Last Jam. Title's something like "Lovin' is a Low-down Blues". Feuding and making up in the same piece. Updated On: 5/8/11 at 12:14 AM
How about "A Hymn to Him" and "An Ordinary Man" from MY FAIR LADY?
Also, I'm not that familiar with the show, but I'm sure THE LAST FIVE YEARS has a song or several about men and/vs. women.
Salve, Regina, Mater misericordiae
Vita, dulcedo, et spes nostra
Salve, Salve Regina
Ad te clamamus exsules filii Eva
Ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes
O clemens O pia
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

These suggestions are great. I'm just going to give this one little bump for any posters who come during the week but not on the weekend. Thanks again, everyone.
"You Could Drive a Person Crazy" from Company "Guys and Dolls" from Guys and Dolls "Marry the Man Today" from Guys and Dolls I think there's also a song from Promises, Promises but I'm not sure.
