Yes, Thing rattles across to center stage from behind the curtain. Then you see a hand (Thing) pull back the curtain. Like seen in the commercial to reveal the Addams standing behind the graveyard gate.
Broadway Shows I've Seen: Hairspray, Chicago, Little Shop of Horrors (2003), The Wedding Singer, Spamalot, Riverdance, Rent, Beauty and the Beast, Spring Awakening, Wicked, Legally Blonde, Phantom of the Opera, Sweet Charity (revival), Drowsy Chaperone, The Lion King, Dreamgirls(2010 Tour).
jacobsnchz14- If you listen to the overture, at around 30 seconds left in the song, a spotlight projects onto the far stage right side of the curtain, and you see some thing rattling the curtain. It begins to move towards center stage, where it reveals itself, Thing, in the curtain's split. It pulls on the curtain open, exactly as it shows in the commercial.
I like how they don't even use any of Andrew Lippa's music, not even his overture which is a variation of the original tune anyway. (Though I'm not complaining, although I really enjoy the Overture!)
