After wanting to see this musical for a year, I finally got to attend the tour. To be honest, I wasn't too sure if I would like it because of all the changes. Like no fionas tower, and so forth. But this tour production is phenomenal.

I was looking forward to see Haven burton play Fiona but when I walked into the Fox's lobby, I saw a sign "At this performance the role of Fiona will be played by Holly Ann Butler" And I was kind of thrown off. I wasn't too sure about seeing an understudy but she did good. Her weakest number was Morning Person, espicially towards the end after the dancing. She reminded me of Cameron Diaz' Fiona more than Suttons.

The Sets and special effects were amazing! It was loud, which was good. And the new dragon works so well. I barely ever looked at the puppeteers controlling the huge puppet. So much better than the broadway dragon.

So since Fionas tower got cut, the new scene works just as great! Theres just the backdrop of the towers window along with other towers across stage and the railing is brought on using the track. Theres clouds onstage in this scene that move so after each Fiona the two clouds from each end of the stage cross one another and an older fiona appears there. It works! I'm very surprised!

It is a good show, and after seeing it I wish it wouldn't have closed on broadway. Its fresh, and funny! I loved every minute. I might just go see it again while its here!

Thanks for the review! I'm seeing the tour in January. How were the sets for the wedding cathedral at the end of the show? I've heard they have cut it down and that the dragon no longer come through a stained class window.

The cathedral scene looks pretty close to the broadway one. Theres still a stained glass window. But you dont see the dragon. You just see the smoke and flames that (kills?) farqaud. The transformation scene is remarkable. She still rises about 50 feet in the air.

I would like to see any footage of the touring production. All we got were those few production shots. I think its strange the tour doesn't have a montage or production clips on the website

I thought the same thing, on any website advertising the tour, it was the broadway montage.. maybe in the future one will appear? The broadway show always had a lot of videos, sad the tour doesn't.

Anyone know what sort of illness Haven Burton has? Her facebook statuses seem to indicate she's quite ill and has been away from the show for some time.

I don't know if this is related, but when I saw the show on 8/22/10, Haven was out as well.
