Just got the subscriber e-mail - no dates but the shows are:

Shrek the Musical
West Side Story
Billy Elliot
Mamma Mia!
Burn the Floor

I was also told that TUTS (Theater Under the Stars) will announce their season either this week or next. From what I've been told it's 6 shows they have never produced before, including two that are currently on Broadway.

------Edited to add:

TUTS announced their new season this morning.

Hairspray
9 to 5
Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas
Billy Elliot
Curtains
Rock of Ages

Haven't seen an official release from BAA yet, but it looks like the two companies are co-sponsoring Billy Elliot like they did Spamalot a couple of years ago. Updated On: 3/21/10 at 11:22 AM

It is down. However, when it was up yesterday and I saw the 2010-11 season for Norfolk, VA, I wanted to scream...in disgust. That's it...I am definitely moving to NYC over the summer.

It looks like BAA is going to have a pitiful season with that set of shows. (probably why the site is still down).

Of those listed, I guess for the Seattle area (at the Paramount) it would probably be at least West Side Story and Billy Elliot.

The 5th did the world premiere of Shrek, so I'm thinking that it won't come here for this season (maybe next season, and even then the 5th would probably have first dibs), Mamma Mia just played here a season or two ago, and if Burn the Floor comes here, I'd just be pissed off.

Wasn't Hair supposed to announce a tour also? I can see that being part of the Seattle season playing at the Moore.

Wow, seeing as I always travel to Houston considering New Orleans shows haven't been here, looks like NOLA has a better season.

I'm unimpressed... However, Tuts still hasn't announced their season. I would be willing to bet with the season Houston has posted Tuts will have something big going on. Houston usually does an excellent job in getting great shows here. Just wait for Tuts, and then we can really judge.

choitoy - The site was actually back up yesterday for most of the night. I was surprised it's down again.

And yes, Hair is going on tour (they have it in a few cities). As is Rock of Ages, which, correct me if I'm wrong - is a Paramount-scale show that hasn't played in Seattle yet.

I agree that I think Shrek is highly unlikely, while Billy Elliot and West Side Story are almost sure-things (which is fine, I'd see both). Les Mis is going on tour here too, and while I know it's been to Seattle before, I've heard this is a new production, and I've never seen a live version of the show so I'd definitely jump to see it.

Mamma Mia!, whilst not at the top of my list, would also probably get me to attend because my girlfriend absolutely loves it and I find ABBA music strangely catchy.

Choitoy how often do Broadway shows play at the Moore? I can't recall the last time.

If I were to guess the Seattle season it would be:

Billy Elliott, West Side Story, Les Miserables, Rock of Ages, Hair, Mary Poppins.

The Seattleites have hijacked the Houston thread! Well, at least until they announce the BAA season for Seattle!

Anyways, Trainwreck, the Seattle Theater Group (which co-sponsors with BAA) runs both the Paramount and the Moore theaters. Though they haven't done it lately, they do house some musicals at the Moore. The very first time Rent came through Seattle, it played at the Moore. The Moore also presented the play Picasso at the Lapin Agile (though both of these productions were before the STG and BAA came to fruition). Hair is a big enough show that they would probably do it at the Paramount, but I think it would be a little more fun to do it at the Moore, because of the smaller, intimate space, and that it's older and has more character, fitting of the show moreso than the Paramount.

I was aware that STG ran both, but was not aware that any musicals (besides RENT) have played there. In any case, I just contacted the Paramount today and they will be announcing in mid-April. They said it's an incredibly strong season. Of course what else would they say? :)

Looks like TUTS got the better of the two seasons, at least IMO.
