I believe they are legally not allowed to ship it until the actual release date.

I was at the signing yesterday...they sang How Are Things In Glocca Morra?, Old Devil Moon, and When I'm Not Near The Girl I Love and they were excellent. I'm pretty sure both broadway.com and BWW were there taking pictures so there should be some soon. Jim Norton, Brian Reddy, Terri White, and Guy Davis were also there to sign CDs. Burton Lane's widow, Mary Lane, and I believe Yip Harburg's daughter and grandson? were there as well as Warren Carlyle and a bunch of the producers. It was a fun signing...it was also really crowded which kind of surprised me, but it was nice that they had a full house.
I wish I could have gone to the signing. I can never make these events. I'd have loved to have seen Warren again. I think he's very talented.
The actors all look so depressed!
Promoting a show that closed must be hard.

That's a great review but I'm not sure if you've made a mistake or are just giving a nod to the homeland of some of the characters. But the show takes place in America not Ireland. I think if someone read that who was unfamiliar with the show they might think you're saying the show takes place in Ireland.
While it may not be the most complex or innovative score of that decade, or even that year, one would be hard pressed to find a more lovely way to spend an hour in Ireland without leaving the comforts of home.

Yeah, "Irish milieu" would probably be a bit better or clearer, but it's probably fine the way it is. SO GLAD you read and enjoyed the review, Eris! I really put a lot of time and effort into my column so its nice to hear a kind word, particularly from a harsh critic like yourself!
Watch out on Thursday for SISTER ACT and PRISCILLA reviews, if you are so inclined!
I totally concur with everyone else's thoughts here. Not only did I greatly enjoy the show when I saw it over the holidays, it stuck with me in a way I didn't expect, which was only enhanced by the recording. The entire ensemble is fantastic, and it's without a doubt one of the best sung productions I've seen in the past few years.
A transporting and rewarding listen, and hopefully Kate Baldwin in particular will be on Broadway for years to come.
Received my pre-order on Monday. Yahoo! Really brings back memories of the show. They did a good job of blending the full orchestrations with ensemble singing. The solos and duets help capture the light feel of the show. So glad they did it before closing.

I wish the production of She Loves Me she was in at the Huntington had a life on Broadway.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

If Kate doesn't mind wearing a dark wig I'm all for her playing me in BWW: The Musical

Forgot to mention - I'm no shill, but FINIAN'S fans will find themselves in for another treat if they also pick up Kate Baldwin's debut solo album. It's a great complement to the cast recording (the album is a tribute to Burton Lane and E.Y. Harburg), and an even more satisfying listen than Kelli O'Hara and Sutton Foster's solo discs IMO. The talent Baldwin displayed onstage in FINIAN'S was definitely no fluke. Too bad I missed her cabaret act at Feinstein's. "Let's See What Happens" Kate Baldwin
I'll echo that her solo CD is fantastic...she sounds lovely and there are some great lesser-known songs on there as well as some standards (including a lovely arrangement of "How Are Things In Glocca Morra?").
