Congrats to them as well as Jane Lynch for their Golden Globe nominations for GLEE (which was also nominated for Best Comedy TV Series).
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Shubert, actually. Though now I want sherbert. I do love Jane Lynch, but there are really no two better performances on television right now than Lea Michele and Matt Morrison?
Apparently, according to the Golden Globes nominating committee, there are only 4 possibly better performances in each of their categories.
If it's any consolation to the Lea Michele and Glee hay-turz, Lea is unlikely to win over Tina Fey, Edie Falco, Toni Collette and Courteney Cox. And Matt is unlikely to win over Steve Carrell, Alec Baldwin and David Duchovny.
And Glee would have to win over Modern Family, The Office, Entourage and 30 Rock.
Don't be sorry. That's your opinion. I think the whole show is stupid, badly written (except for some of Lynch's stuff), completely uneven, and that they've autotuned the emotion out of it. That "Imagine" number left me completely cold. Updated On: 12/15/09 at 09:50 AM
Yeah the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has a history of making some rather....strange decisions, so the people from Glee could very well win. Although I think it'd be a crime if Glee won over Modern Family or 30 Rock.

I guess you guys don't get it. Or perhaps I don't.
I don't know if it was the creators' intention or not, but the outcome is perceived by myself as thus: the bad acting, the casting, the writing, the camp....it's all part of the STYLE of the show! I think it's supposed to be a nonrealistic reality packaged with purposeful awfulness that audiences just can't get enough of.
And if my perception of it all wasn't intended by the creators, then "oh well." It's why I enjoy it. I don't think it's GOOD, but it is certainly enjoyable. On par with HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL, except the marketed audience has been expanded to include adults.

That's not even the issue CapnHook. The issue is that there are many more deserving people who deserve nominations in those categories. Especially in Lea's and Jane's categories.
First of all, I'm not sure intentional camp is actually camp at all. Second of all, I do not believe it was their intention to create a so-bad it's good show.
I don't understand the appeal of Jane Lynch, she plays the SAME character over and over again. The way the GLEE casts talks about her you'd think they were working with Brando.
I think this woman is annoying and not great at all.
I'm happy for them. I'm glad some new, original non-reality shows could survive. However, my problem with the show is that they try and camp it up and have stupid plot twists (someone gets preggers in a jacuzzi....what?), but then they twist it and have like these heart felt episodes to make us sympathize with the kid in the wheelchair. What? The reason they put the kid in the wheel chair in a show choir is for the purpose of humor. So then to yank that rug from underneath and try and make this big statement about disabled people.... it just doesn't work. If you're going to have quirky, controversial humor (which they do well), then keep that and don't try and force sentiment.
