I am appalled that Matthew Morrison got a nomination and that Lea Michele got one over America Ferrara for Ugly Betty. And, while I usually love Jane Lynch, that she got a nomination over Vanessa Williams is a crime.
Courtney Cox and Lea Michelle over Mary-Louise Parker is just about the most ridiculous thing, but these are the same people who nominated Julia Roberts for DUPLICITY. Glad that Jane Lynch got a nod.

Sorry just cannot get into COUGAR TOWN. Would have rather seen Julie Bowen get that slot. And Cox was my favorite FRIEND, can't believe she didn't get nominated.

I am sad it didn't get a Best TV Series - Comedy nomination. I think the writing is genius. I think it deserved a spot over Entourage this season (if not Glee, obviously).
If she were just up against TV actresses, maybe. But she is also up against the miniseries and made for TV movie actresses, some of whom deserve to win more (Janet McTeer for Into the Storm).
Also, how did I just now notice that Rob Marshall didn't get a nomination for Nine? I had heard bad things about the film, but I figured he would get a nomination either way.
If Glee wins over Modern Family, there's something seriously wrong with the Golden Globes.
I am, however, thrilled that Sandra Bullock got two nominations for Best Actress (one Comedy, one Drama). She was very funny and charming in THE PROPOSAL and really quite spectacular in THE BLIND SIDE, a performance that I hope will get her an Oscar nomination. This really was a stellar year for her; good for Ms. Bullock. She deserves it.
I'm seriously shocked that Lea Michele was nominated over Mary-Louise Parker for Weeds and Matthew Morrison over John Corbett for United States of Tara.
I have a serious bone to pick with the Hollywood Foreign Press this year.
...everyone was doing the mambo and drinking golden cadillacs...
I too am upset that Mary Louise Parker was forgotten this year, but Ray we'll have to agree to disagree again because I think that Julia Roberts thoroughly deserved that nomination.
EWW, why is this thread all about crappy sitcoms and GLEE hate?
How unseemly!
Anyway, SUPER stoked about NINE and INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS getting recognized so heavily. It seems Cotillard and Waltz are the two I will be rooting for, though it would be nice to Cruz to be recognized. The Marshall snub is unfortunate, but who knows.
DEXTER will own the TV Drama categories, at least Hall and Lithgow. TRUE BLOOD may slip in as Best Drama Series though.
Parker, while good, hasn't really shown much growth and seems in a bit of a rut, particularly this season. Just my opinion.
This was one of Parker's strongest seasons in WEEDS, especially since the show got back on track. Jewishboy, I haven't seen the movie so I'll take your word for it, it didn't look great from the trailers and it was kind of a left field nod. I trust your taste

It was a left field nod. The movie isn't great, but any scene with Clive Owen and Julia Roberts together is movie comedy heaven! Also, you should know I am a Julia Roberts fan, so I'm a little biased (couldn't bring myself to see her in Three Days of Rain though... didn't want to be dissapointed).
Rob Marshall didn't get a nom because they nominated all the directors of the DRAMAS. It's not lked they snubbed him to nominate the director of a film that was not nominated for best film.
I enjoyed the first couple episodes of THE OFFICE this season (all through the wedding) but after that I think all the episodes have been painfully unfunny (Jim as the co-manager killed it for me). I'd love to see MODERN FAMILY pull off a freshman win, I love 30 ROCK but it'd be nice to see something else win (not GLEE please). Jewishboy, I thought Julia Roberts and Clive Owen had chemistry through the roof in CLOSER and thought she was robbed of a nomination that year for whatever it's worth, so I don't doubt she and Owen have lots of chemistry in DUPLICITY. I wish Rob Marshall had gotten nominated. NINE looks creative, stylish and unique. INVICTUS on the other hand looks like such a by the books movie with a by the books "actor playing real life historical figure" performance by Morgan Freeman who isn't one to get lost in the characters he plays.

Rob Marshall didn't get a nom because they nominated all the directors of the DRAMAS. Rob Marshall didn't get a nod because apparently the direction of Nine is terrible.
And Pgenre, while I would LOVE for Dexter to win those awards, I predict a Bill Paxton win for Big Love and Mad Men to win Best Drama Series (again). Also, we finally might have a NPH win on our hands here (if Piven doesn't eff things up for him).
