I have group seats for March 18th. I'm wondering if I should have a plan B? -

I am not looking for sarcastic comments - just gut feelings -

I think they've already put too much money into this not to open.

A little known fact is that in the original screenplay, Pan's Labyrinth was Pan's FLAByrinth. Hmmmmmmm...glad they changed it.

Agreed ^.

I have seen the theatre and its crazy how they tore almost everything apart and built all new stuff just for Spiderman. It would be a waste of money to not go through with it, since so much was already spent.

personal opinion.

I heard they're reupholstering the seats, coz Taymor wants them to fit the colour scheme. Better hope the material's good...

Yes, they have spent a lot, however it is not all spent and if it is running over it could very well be they cut their losses. Why continue throwing good money after bad?

Group seats are hard to have a back up plan. You can't get your money back until the actually cancel, and you would have to pay to hold another set of tickets.

It's always a concern, but I'm not sure there is an alternative.

I plan a trip for 100 every year....and I'm alway nervous getting through the winter for our choices.

If it were a single ticket I'd say go ahead and take the chance, but they've got a lot of work to do. I believe it will open, I just wouldn't bet on it being by March 18th. Unfortunately, no one is really able to give you an educated answer on this, it's all gut feelings. You have to go with your instincts. Good luck!

I'd wager it's probable 12 to 7.

If a show sells out you won't be able to see the upholstery, right?

Must be expecting less than capacity. At least all the empty seats will blend in with the scenery!

joking of course

How much is the top ticket? I imagine it must be $200 or so, with that even not being enough to bring this thing toward recouping without a long ride ahead.

I would say VERY good it is. A new press release was sent out today regarding tickets to the general public.

I went to the auitions for this show, they are opening it. They wouldnt hold expensive casting calls if they didn't plan to open. I think you are safe with your tickets.

Frankly, I hope everyone walks (like Bono - good riddance) and just lets Taymor do what she wants.

I have a feeling it will be either that or Bedlam come February.

Giving Taymor the combination to the bank vault was a mistake

She created The Lion King so they give her what she wants. Reminds me of Michael Cimino who did The Deer Hunter. United Artists gave him free access to unlimited money after TDH. The result was Heavens Gate & the end of UA.

Yeah but Michael Cimino didn't do TITUS, FRIDA and ACROSS THE UNIVERSE in between.

Sure, her stage pieces in-between TLK and SPIDERMAN have been experimental and small scale, and not that fantastic, but please.

Bad comparison.

But they should get the set done and then cut the cash if that is truly the case.

Are you seriously saying that Titus, Frida and ACROSS THE UNIVERSE should give her Carte Blanche? Seriously?

Absolutely not. I think they should not give her any MORE than what was agreed upon and what has been agreed to up until this point if they want to keep the enterprise afloat now that it is relatively back on track. Besides that, I think it would be wise for Bono and The Edge (and the various bookwriters) and the producers to let her work. I'd rather have SPRING AWAKENING than THE CAPEMAN, if the director or the composer has to win the battle.
