Boobs, my niece has met her a few times and gotten things signed, but I know she would have loved to have had these pieces from when she was in ANNIE. The only reason niecey isn't coming in for this is because it's the weekend of her school musical and cast party, and she's a senior.
Have I ever shown you my Shattered Dreams box? It's in my Disappointment Closet. - Marge Simpson
Andrea is a CLASS act! I have been a huge fan since Annie. Have seen her on Broadway in her other performances and thought she was great as Belle.
I've also had the pleasure of meeting her at the BCEFA fundraising event (where I asked if she and her husband could give me a lift home on her motorcycle and she said she would if she had a side car!) When she took a photo with me and signed it at this event she noted that her mom and I share the same name. She was very gracious and talked about a new album she is working on, etc.
I also saw her performance not too long ago at the Emelin Theatre in Mamaroneck where she blew me away.
Have seen her perform in the McArdle Family Christmas in Florida.
Needless to say, I wouldn't miss this performance for anything! Already have my tix.
If you have the opportunity, go see this true broadway icon live. It will be an evening you won't soon forget. She is warm, geniune and very open to speaking/taking pix with her fans.
You are all very, very lucky. Andrea is very excited about this show as there is a new director and she'll be incorporating a lot of newer songs. I have seen Andrea is countless shows since I saw her in "Beauty and the Beast" when I was 12 years old. She is a true class act and welcomes us all with open arms whenever we come out to support her. I am costume designing a show that opens that weekend so I'll be unable to make this performance but I look forward to reading all of the reviews. I'm thinking maybe her daughter will do a song too but I'm not sure.
The show is being directed by Richard J. Alexander, who also directed Bette Midler's Kiss My Brass awhile back. He's a good friend of Andrea's a did a lot of stuff for her On Broadway album. Just passing along info as I hear it.
So bumming that I'll miss this one. I'll be on my way home.
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."

I love Andrea McAdrdle. Does she still have the power in her voice jsut like when she was younger? I only asked that because it seemed to me she belted through the entire show, what a strain on her voice!
i didn't know she still worked in Showbiz, or was still alive for that matter.

Andrea still has an amazing voice and I wish her the best of luck in her show. If anyone is interested in checking out an "Annie" website, you can see lots of pictures of Andrea at www.annieorphans.com.
Andrea does still have an amazing voice...and anyone who doesn't even think she was still alive shouldn't be posting on a Broadway site...how embarrassing !!!

I'm counting on you guys for the full rundown. This is one of the only Andrea shows I've missed in years and I was in NYC all of last week and didn't know that she was at Don't Tell Mamas on Thursday. Bummer!
