Saw Carolee Saturday matinee in St. Louis. As reported, she is absolutely fabulous. John Bolton is a good Horace and Analisa has really grown in the role since I saw her in Chicago. I looked at tickets for Sunday and the Fox ticket site said there were 746 tickets left for the matinee and over 1,000 for the evening! Of course, there was some major sportball thing going on too. Got to chat a bit with John and Carolee at the stage door.

Oh, she looks spectacular! Truly cannot wait to experience her Dolly when she does the Detroit stop (and Hartford if I can make it work...).

She does look great. I still don't understand why the duck walk sequence of the title number now moves from stage right to stage left. It wasn't that way on Broadway in either the original production or the revival.

Ray is the author of the Brad Frame mystery series, and two suspense novels. He is also the author of a one man play based on Ben Franklin. http://www.rayflynt.com

I saw the show on Thursday, Oct. 10th in St. Louis. It was fabulous. Carolee Carmello was funny and full of heart. The entire production was great and the costumes were beautiful. Hello Dolly isn't one of my favorite shows, but I would go see this production again if I could.

Long time lurker, just created an account to share my experience. I was in St. Louis from Detroit for a wedding and decided to see Hello Dolly on Friday. I must say Carolee was absolutely spectacular. I saw Bette on Broadway and I strongly believe Carolee was just as good. I also found I liked John Bolton as Horace more than David Hyde Pierce and Analisa Leaming as Irene more than Kate Baldwin. I am very much looking forward to seeing this again when it comes to Detroit in November.

Saw the matinee on 10/13/19 and agree the tour looks and sounds great.  Carolee sounded good and was a fun Dolly.  I also saw Bette on Broadway and would not say that Carolee is blessed with the same charisma, but she did well.  This Horace was a little less grouchy than David Hyde Pierce so I didn't actively root against Dolly snagging him, so I may have enjoyed the story better.

Wow. Just. Wow. Saw this in Oklahoma City tonight. Had a spectacular time. Having seen the latest revival on Broadway twice (once with Bette, once with Bernadette), I can’t say this surpasses those two performances, but it was still a spectacular treat.

I was lucky enough to be front row tonight and it was certainly a treat. Having seen Carolee Carmello in Sweeney Todd, I wax especially primed to exprerience her in this role. She did not disappoint. I also loved the actor playing Barbary (Sean Burns) and the actress playing Irene Molloy (Analisa Leaming). Just pure euphoria all around.

I ended up buying the vinyl cast recording, t-shirt (It’s a Little Lumpy...), tour program, window card, and tote bag (which is $5 with any other purchase).

I stage doored (only one of two who people) and all the principals came out, including Carolee Carmello. They all signed my window card and took pictures. I was a little worried that my enthusiasm from the front row (including one or two brief standing ovations during the show) might’ve been too much. But at least two of the performers including Carmello said they noticed me from front row and appreciated my enthusiasm and actually Carmello said she sought eye contact with me because of it. I was able to reminisce with Carmello about seeing her in Sweeney Todd during Rothman’s first full performance as Sweeney Todd. I was able to thank all for bringing joy to Oklahoma at a time our world greatly needs it.

If you have a chance to see this on tour, do not hesitate. Buy your ticket and enjoy!

Anyone have a photo of the Playbill title page? Interesting to see how it looks for this one.

OKC doesn’t do Playbills. We do have programs. They just aren’t Playbills. Are you talking about the inside title page? I don’t have the energy this morning to do what it takes to post a personal picture on here so if you want PM me and I can send you a picture either via email or text.

BY the way, Carmello’s name (the only one) is large and in charge on the window card.

Carolee’s name is above the title, and then below the title it’s “also starring John Bolton”. It’s exactly the same style as it was done on Broadway.

Strange that it's being advertised with her name below the title! Sometimes it's the other way around (advertise above the title but actually billed below the title –– Finding Neverland and Betrayal, for example).

Thanks for sharing, that's what I was mainly curious about.

"

She’s below the title on the window card, though, which makes it even more confusing.
