I doubt it would happen, but if they petitioned Amber Gray (and even Patrick Page) for leading instead of Noblezada, what would her chances look like with all the previously listed actresses?

I didn't think Eva would get a nomination, as the role of Eurydice is fairly small for a lead role, but having now seen her in the production I think she will. She brings a LOT to the role, and considering her recent nom for Miss Saigon as well I think she'll get a nomination this year.

Unless Hadestown sweeps, I don't think she'll win though.

I think it would be a huge mistake to move Amber and Patrick up to leading. The roles just aren't enough for leading, but they seem to be a lock for featured wins. Hadestown is fairly ensemble, with five roles of roughly similar size. Of those, Amber and Patrick are the most acclaimed, but I don't think it's enough to pull a win.

The smart thing to do is to put Amber and Patrick in the category they're likely to win, and stick Eva and Reeve in leading so they can't split the vote. Besides, Orpheus and Eurydice have a much more traditional arc, they drive the story, and it is supposed to be 'about' them. Structure wise, they are the leads.
