I remember that. I saw that in grade school, maybe kindergarten, in a school-wide assembly. It's ironic that it's an anti-drug video, because it was so bizarre and nightmarish that nobody could possibly have thought of it without being wasted.
(Knew that as soon as I saw the title). I want a coin.
That song and the song played on the closing credits...umm...something about get up and go, remember those ways to say no....you'll even outgrow us some day...anyway, those both were written by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman.
I rented that video from Blockbuster all the time. Muppet Babies, Garfield, Ninja Turtles, Looney Tunes, Ducktales, Ghostbusters, Smurfs, Alf, the new adventures of Pooh, etc.
I'm pretty sure it is wild and not "and one"
Anyway, I liked it when I was really young. And still do for nostalgic purposes of course.
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli
