Last week at the Chatterbox, Michael said January 24th, or sometimes around that!

Posted: 12/17/05 at 5:35pmThey might have it in the lobby of the theater when you go James2. They tend to release things sooner in NYC and in the theaters. Its the same date as The color Purple I believe.

they are only releasing a highlights cd

Posted: 1/2/06 at 11:51amYou can get it in New York on Jan. 24th. It's not a higlights CD-- Sondheim wouldn't allow it. It is 2 discs but some songs have been excluded all of which make sense... City on Fire, Parlor Songs...

Are you sure?
The list price is $19.99 and that's VERY cheap for a 2 disc collection - and it's usually going to be sold for $13.99

Littlewow, that sound slike inside knowledge... is it? or were guessing that Sondheim wouldn't allow it to be done, on principle?

All I am saying is that since the LIST price is $19.99. It is usually going to be sold cheaper for between $13.99 - $16.99.
BUT it's a huge relief if it's really 2 discs!

Posted: 1/2/06 at 2:22pmit's 2 discs. they never recorded several songs so as not to waste money, but these songs are understandably left off because they are difficult to listen to without the context (City on Fire) and Parlor Songs. Almost everything is included in the 2 discs which Sondheim was very much consulted on.
